Seeking a full-time professional in Iraq, supporting Navigational Aids (NAVAIDS) Maintenance & Repair Support project. This position supports 24/7 aviation operations in a deployed environment and ensures safe, efficient, and compliant airfield operations while supporting mission-critical systems.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Develop and implement the Quality Control Plan (QCP) in compliance with contract requirements.
- →Conduct audits, inspections, and surveillance of maintenance activities.
- →Ensure compliance with FAA, ICAO, OSHA, DoD, and host nation regulations.
- →Track performance metrics, KPIs, and corrective actions.
- →Support internal and external audits and reporting requirements.
- →Review the production activities and capabilities in light of quality requirements.
- →Ensure that the staff understands the maintenance and repair requirements.
- →Evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of the staff’s quality or inspection system including in-house sampling plans.
- →Analyze quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the crew's quality or inspection system.
- →Verify by test or inspection that products used comply with contractual requirements before they are utilized.
- →Request corrective action by the crew when inadequacies are detected in the inspection system or quality program.
- →Coordinate the disposition of nonconforming products and materials.
- →Fulfill your duties and responsibilities for controlling O&M services quality in accordance with contractual requirements, and that the completed O&M services conform to specifications and/or manufacturer’s recommendations.
- →Investigate customer complaints and deficiency reports and provide identification of causes to appropriate activities.
- →For maintenance of major items, review and recommend approval/disapproval of work over and above that contractually authorized; and where applicable, perform quality assurance support activities at the crew’s level.
- →Become familiar with the Action Plan (AP) and provide daily, weekly and monthly reports as required by the AP.
- →Maintain close relationships with the prime contractor and USG to ensure all their requirements are fully met in accordance with the task order and prime contract requirements.
- →Assist in the review and approval of all subcontractors and suppliers’ invoices prior to submitting to ensure that work has been completed according to contract requirements.
- →Manage all required QA/QC programs follow-on PACOM sustainment operations.
- →Coordinate with the Task Order Manager all activities related to site development and construction to ensure that quality of work is being implemented.
- →Ensure that Operations and Maintenance services are performed and being met to a good quality standard.
- →Follow all VGS standard policies and practices.
- →As directed by the Supervisor.
Requirements
~2 min read- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must have computer skills and be able to operate a variety of computer programs.
- Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license from their home country with validity for 12 months from on-site employment date.
- Must maintain a valid passport from their home country with validity for 12 months from the wheels-up deployment date to the site.
- Must satisfy and maintain all medical screening requirements.
- Ability to perform essential job duties in a deployed environment.
- Minimum 5 years QA/QC experience in aviation or DoD environment.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems.
- Strong auditing, reporting, and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of quality assurance/control methods, principles, and practices, including statistical analysis and sampling techniques.
- Knowledge of pertinent product characteristics and applicable production maintenance, or repair methods and processes.
- Knowledge of inspection, test, and measurement techniques.
- Knowledge of the relationship of quality assurance to other activities such as contract administration, engineering, supply.
- Skill in conducting studies and investigations, problem analysis, and developing logical and documented recommendations.
- Experienced working in international work environments in an expatriate or US military status
- Knowledge of standards, procedures, methods, and techniques applicable to construction projects including construction equipment, materials, and utility systems.
- Knowledge and skill sufficient to advise or formally instruct supervisors and employees on safety techniques, proper storage of hazardous materials, common laboratory hazards, and building evacuation procedures.
- Skill in interpreting and applying product specifications, technical data, regulations, policy statements, and other guideline materials.
