Job Title: Agricultural Systems Technician LeadJob SummaryAs an Agricultural Systems Technician Lead, you will oversee and coordinate the maintenance and repair operations for complex mechanical, electrical, and conveying systems in our poultry production plant. You will lead a team of technicians, ensuring optimal performance of all industrial equipment, implementing advanced preventative and predictive maintenance strategies, and driving continuous improvement in operational efficiency and safety.Essential Job Functions
Lead and mentor a team of Agricultural Systems Technicians, assigning tasks, providing technical guidance, and evaluating performance Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance schedules and strategies for all plant equipment and systems Conduct advanced diagnostics and root cause analysis on complex mechanical and electrical issues Oversee and participate in high-level repairs and modifications of critical systems Assist with the inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring optimal stock levels and cost-efficiency Collaborate with management to develop and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives Serve as the primary liaison between maintenance team and other departments (production, quality, safety) Lead safety initiatives within the maintenance department, ensuring compliance with all regulations and company policies Develop and conduct training programs for technicians on new equipment, safety procedures, and maintenance best practices Manage maintenance budgets and track key performance indicators (KPIs) Participate in capital project planning and implementation Oversee documentation of all maintenance activities, ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting Other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications
6+ years of relevant experience, with at least 4 years in industrial, commercial, or facility systems maintenance Expert-level knowledge of industrial electrical systems, mechanical systems, and control systems Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) Strong leadership and team management skills Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Proficient in data analysis and report generation Strong project management skills Ability to work overtime, weekends and holiday hours as required based on production demandPreferred Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience Additional trade or technical school education for maintenance, mechanical, welding, or electrical Maintenance experience in the poultry or agriculture industryWork EnvironmentThis position requires the physical ability to lift, carry, push, or pull weights of 75+ lbs. and to work in various climate conditions, including extreme heat and cold. The role demands the capacity to walk, climb, stand, and sit for extended periods, as well as work at heights up to 75' and in confined spaces. The job is set in a poultry production plant environment, which may involve exposure to animals and confined areas.
