Vertiv is looking for an Application Engineer (Thermal) to provide pre-sales technical support for data center cooling solutions, with a focus on perimeter cooling and high-density rack cooling.
The role involves interpreting customer requirements, developing technical proposals, bills of materials, and solution designs for tender submissions. It also includes supporting sales and project teams with technical expertise, coordinating with internal factories and support teams, and ensuring compliance with specifications and FAT requirements.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Provide pre-sales consultancy for Datacenter critical infrastructure with special emphasis on Vertiv Thermal related product such as perimeter cooling & high density rack cooling
- →Receive customer inquiries and interpret customer specifications and requirements for technical proposals by generating Bill of Materials, proposal writing and product solutioning for tender submission.
- →Responsible to support through technical knowledge of Vertiv Thermal solution to Sales, Project, Service and Procurement during pre-sales to achieve deep plan and spec, win orders and smooth project delivery. This includes FAT clarification with respective stakeholders to comply with tender specification.
- →Liaison with Centralised Technical Support Team, Vertiv factory and product team on technical aspect coordination to provide holistic solution offer based on customer specifications.
- →Attend site walk to review and develop project scope, prepare documents for technical proposals and installation to ease contractor bidding when customer specifications are not specified.
- →Gather all pertinent information of projects tender. Perform reviews on existing system design to propose suitable upgrades and replacements for Thermal retrofit project.
- →Maintain the drawings (softcopies), catalogues, white papers, application and technical reference materials to ensure that they are updated, orderly and readily accessible.
- →Support to drive market awareness on Vertiv Thermal product to both internal & external customers.
- Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in data centre design/environment
- Prior Data Centre M&E knowledge, particularly in HVAC application system.
- Required knowledge in understanding and interpret ASHRAE and Building Energy Efficiency.
- Possess can-do attitude and strong team player.
