The Electrical Engineer position will support a major manufacturing expansion, with responsibility spanning electrical system design, installation, commissioning, startup, operation, and handover. This position is ideal for an engineer who wants to own complex electrical infrastructure and ensure safe, reliable delivery and distribution of power to a world‑class industrial facility.
The Electrical Engineer will lead the development and installation of substations, backup power systems, power distribution networks, electrical protection systems, monitoring platforms, and equipment power integration. As the facility transitions from construction to full production, this role has the potential to evolve into an electrical system owner or site electrical authority, providing long‑term leadership for power systems and reliability.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Lead the design, specification, and installation of electrical infrastructure including medium and low voltage substations, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, UPS systems, generators, distribution panels, grounding systems, and power monitoring systems.
- →Develop and maintain electrical system layouts, one-line diagrams, load studies, arc flash analyses, and equipment specifications.
- →Manage electrical installation activities with contractors, OEMs, engineering firms, and internal maintenance and operations teams.
- →Oversee commissioning, testing, protective relay validation, and system energization for new electrical equipment and distribution systems.
- →Ensure proper electrical integration and power readiness for new production equipment and mechanical utility systems.
- →Conduct field inspections to verify installation quality, safety compliance, and adherence to NEC, NFPA 70E, and internal engineering standards.
- →Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and technical documentation for electrical infrastructure and capital projects.
- →Support procurement, cost tracking, and reporting.
- →Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance electrical reliability, energy efficiency, and system resilience.
- →Implement and maintain electrical monitoring systems (power quality meters, breaker monitoring, load trending, connection to SCADA).
- →Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFPA, and company safety standards throughout all project phases.
- →Provide technical support during startup and early production, ensuring smooth transition of electrical systems to operations and maintenance teams.
Responsibilities and tasks outlined are not exhaustive and may change as determined by the needs of the business.
