Woodston Personnel have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant in Infectious Diseases role with our client in KSA. The Consultant in Infectious Diseases is a senior physician responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The role involves managing complex infections, advising other clinical teams on antimicrobial therapy, contributing to infection prevention and control programs, and supporting antimicrobial stewardship initiatives. The consultant also participates in teaching, research, and service development within the organization.

Provide expert consultation on the diagnosis and management of complex infectious diseases.

Manage inpatient and outpatient clinics for patients with acute and chronic infections.

Provide timely advice to multidisciplinary teams regarding infection management and antimicrobial therapy.

Participate in ward rounds, case discussions, and multidisciplinary meetings.

Support the management of infections in immunocompromised patients and those with complicated medical conditions.

Work closely with the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) team to reduce healthcare-associated infections.

Provide clinical leadership during outbreaks or emerging infectious disease events.

Support hospital surveillance programs and infection control policy development.

Lead or contribute to antimicrobial stewardship initiatives.

Review antimicrobial prescribing practices and provide recommendations to optimize therapy.

Assist in developing local antimicrobial guidelines and protocols.

Teach and mentor junior doctors, medical students, nurses, and allied health professionals.

Deliver lectures, case reviews, and training sessions related to infectious diseases and antimicrobial management.

Participate in clinical research, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.

Contribute to publications, conference presentations, and evidence-based practice development.

Support clinical trials and new treatment strategies when applicable.

Contribute to departmental strategy, service development, and policy implementation.

Participate in hospital committees related to infection control, patient safety, and clinical governance.

Ensure compliance with clinical governance standards and regulatory requirements.
