Purpose:

The Director, Sales & Legal Accountable for the strategic direction, performance, and technical direction of the Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Digital Adoption Applications domain, including end-to-end ownership of core enterprise function systems and associated budget. Directs a complex global function, including internal teams and external partners, to ensure these platforms reliably support business operations, commercial growth, legal and regulatory compliance, and user adoption, while ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives over a 1–3-year roadmap.

Acts as a key advisor between Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Digital Adoption stakeholders and Digital executive leadership on matters impacting operations, technology roadmaps, support models and digital investment, with decisions that impact commercial effectiveness, cost efficiency, operational capability, risk management and compliance.

This full-time position offers flexibility in location across the Americas and APAC regions, allowing the successful candidate to be based at any Worley office within those regions. The role follows a hybrid work model, with an expectation of three days per week in the office.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads a global organization (internal and partner resources), typically 50–100+ personnel across multiple locations 
  • Owns a global Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Digital Adoption applications portfolio supporting enterprise-wide processes and operations.
  • Accountable for significant budget (labor, licensing, vendors, and improvements).
  • Operates across multiple regions with largely aligned commercial, legal, and adoption objectives and standardized platforms.
  • Influences enterprise platforms spanning the Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Digital Adoption portfolio of systems – SaaS, On-Premises and Managed Services.

Application Strategy & Lifecycle Leadership

  • Defines and delivers the multi-year roadmap for Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Digital Adoption Applications, aligned to functional and enterprise priorities.
  • Owns total cost of ownership (TCO), budget, demand and long-range planning to aid in the enablement of the global Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Digital Adoption functions.Develops and execute supporting delivery plans, partnering with stakeholders across regions, business units, and functional teams to ensure solutions address diverse business needs while maintaining global consistency, governance, and operational excellence.
  • Establishes and maintains strategic relationships with Business functions, external partners, technology vendors, and service providers to support innovation, continuous improvement, and Worley's long-term digital ambition.
  • Identifies and delivers opportunities for automation, standardization, and simplification. Drives modernization initiatives, including cloud adoption and AI-enablement.
  • Ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and security strategies.

Solution and Demand Management

  • Accountable for the end-to-end Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Digital Adoption technology portfolio across the full lifecycle (plan, build, operate, retire). Owns the solution which includes technology in support of the functional roadmaps. This includes physical ownership of technology including all aspects of the build-operate-support-retire lifecycle.
  • Defines scalable, enterprise-grade solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes. The solution includes all facets of digital technology chosen to enable the organization (e.g. tools, integrations, automation, AI, data management, reporting) with accountability for ensuring that the full technology stack is available and works; the build phase may be covered by other parts of Worley Digital.
  • Deeply collaborates with other groups such as those in Worley Digital I&O and Worley Digital Transformation to both develop and maintain the solution within the Digital landscape.
  • Understands the needs of the organization and defines a scalable solution and design that matches the needs and meets the Enterprise Architecture requirements. Articulates the benefits of the solution and ensures the solution can deliver those benefits. Accountable for building, updating and maintaining the solution.
  • Govern integration patterns, APIs, middleware, and data flows and interoperability across enterprise platforms, including adjacent functions (Finance, HR, Procurement, Project Controls).
  • Evaluates and recommends new technologies and capabilities, including modules, AI and automation.
  • Leads or governs Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Digital Adoption system upgrades and enhancements.
  • Ensure disciplined change management, release planning, testing, and deployment.

Program & Delivery Leadership

  • Interfaces with the Digital Transformation team and supports strategic global initiatives by supplying the technical resources needed as well as ensuring fit-for-purpose technology solutions are selected.
  • Directs global implementations, rollouts, and upgrades, coordinating efforts across multiple regions, time zones, and cultures to ensure successful delivery. Establishes and enforces global delivery methodologies, governance frameworks and ways of working (e.g. scaled agile/hybrid, release management, cutover) to ensure consistency and quality across all regions.
  • Drives partner ecosystem performance (clear scope, service level agreements and outcome-based fees).
  • Builds and develops a high-performing, product-oriented global organization including skill development of teams.
  • Foster’s reliability, automation and AI culture.
  • Defines a clear differentiation on what items get handled through BAU Support, Project Wrapped, or Transformation Required.

Financial Stewardship & Value Realization

  • In collaboration with the relevant Enterprise functions (Sales, Marketing, Legal, Digital Adoption), creates and tracks the CAPEX business case (benefits, KPIs, savings, revenue enablement), where these are not part of Digital Transformation (CAC Funded).
  • Delivers transparent cost models (show back/chargeback where appropriate) and influences investment decisions in collaboration with executive stakeholders.
  • Manages global monthly and quarterly financial forecasts for labour and non-labour budgets, proactively identifying variances to prevent cost overruns.
  • Manages strategic relationships with software vendors, system integrators, and service providers.

Support & Maintenance

  • Sets the strategy and governance for global support and operational models, ensuring services are reliable, scalable and focused on keeping Worley's people productive.
  • Ensures effective transition of solutions into BAU operations, with clear ownership, support structures and operational acceptance criteria.
  • Defines and monitors service performance metrics, using insights to drive continuous improvement, optimization and service quality uplift.
  • Establishes a strong service culture, centered on responsiveness, operational excellence and user experience.

Supervision Received    

  • Works closely with the Global Head of Applications and operates with broad management authority aligned to enterprise objectives.

Supervision Authority    

  • Has direct as well as indirect reports, including partner organizations with accountability for capability, performance and outcomes. Makes decisions as to the selection, training, discipline and remuneration of team members.

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:

  • 20+ years' digital execution experience, including significant exposure to global projects or global enterprise application environments.
  • Experience influencing senior executives and enterprise investment decisions. Developing strategies and roadmaps and managing a pipeline/backlog of feature requests/continuous improvement items.
  • Track record of successfully implementing new ways of working with regards to Demand Management and Release Cycles.
  • Proven record of directly managing teams of people in a globally distributed operating model comprised of employee and supplier partner staff across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong organizational and strategic leadership capability.
  • Problem solver, who is outcome focused, with the ability to operate effectively in complex and ambiguous environments.
  • Thought leader that can pivot between strategic and tactical thinking.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationship management skills, fostering a culture of accountability, clarity of remit, and effective handoffs to/between adjacent systems and teams.
  • Builds strong, constructive, and effective relationships across business and technology stakeholders – throughout the organization and with external parties.
  • Using diplomacy and tact, is approachable, employs the principles of active listening and encourages feedback, while operating to a predefined budget.
  • Demonstrates global leadership and the ability to engage and inspire teams across multiple regions and cultures.
  • Communicates complex concepts clearly to executive and non-technical audiences in a logical and understandable manner.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

  • University Degree.
