YAMWood Foundry - Assembly Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled, dependable Contract Assembly Technician to assist with the final assembly of our custom, high-end hospitality products including rolling bars, hostess stands, rolling carts, and other specialty equipment used in luxury resorts and hospitality environments. This role is ideal for a “jack-of-all-trades” or handyman-type professional who is comfortable working with a variety of tools, materials, and assembly processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform final assembly of custom hospitality equipment
• Mechanically fasten components using hand and power tools
• Install and seal sinks and edges using caulking and sealants
• Perform light-duty LED wiring and basic electrical connections
• Complete basic plumbing hookups and fixture installation
• Install hardware, doors, drawers, shelving, and accessories
• Ensure all assembled products meet high-end quality standards
• Identify and fix minor issues during assembly
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow project timelines and meet production deadlines

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience using hand tools and power tools
• Basic knowledge of mechanical assembly
• Basic LED wiring and light electrical work experience
• Basic plumbing installation experience
• Experience with caulking, sealing, and finishing work
• Ability to read drawings or follow assembly instructions
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
• Experience in cabinetry, millwork, metalwork, or equipment assembly is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs
• Ability to stand, bend, and work with tools for extended periods
• Comfortable working in a shop/production environment

Compensation

• Contract position (1099)
• Pay based on experience
• Potential for full-time employment in the future based on workload and performance

Working Conditions:

This position primarily works in a shop environment. This position is occasionally required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift up to 60 lbs. May be required to stand on feet for lengthy periods of time. This position may be exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.
