Texas Instruments (TI) is looking for an experienced MEP Engineer – Semiconductor Factory Expansion & Tool Hook-Up to join our team. As a MEP Engineer at TI, you'll lead and coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and utility scope for semiconductor tool hook-up, factory expansion, and cleanroom conversion projects. This role is responsible for driving safe, high-quality, and on-schedule execution across design review, facility utility expansion, installation, commissioning, and handover in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate brings strong field execution experience, understands complex facility and cleanroom utility systems, and can work across contractors, vendors, tool owners, and internal stakeholders to keep expansion and ramp activities moving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead MEP coordination for tool hook-up, facilities utility expansion, and cleanroom conversion projects from planning through installation, commissioning, and final handover
  • Review design drawings, layouts, technical submittals, and construction packages to ensure readiness for execution
  • Coordinate facility electrical and mechanical utility expansion required to support new tools, production capacity increases, and factory infrastructure upgrades
  • Support cleanroom conversion activities, including facility modifications, utility routing, system tie-ins, and readiness for manufacturing operations
  • Coordinate utility connections and facility interfaces required to support manufacturing tool installation, start-up, and sustained operations
  • Partner with facilities, construction, manufacturing, tool owners, contractors, and vendors to resolve issues and maintain project momentum
  • Monitor field execution, installation quality, schedule performance, and construction risks across MEP workstreams
  • Identify and escalate issues early to protect safety, quality, cost, and delivery milestones
  • Support commissioning activities, punch list closure, turnover documentation, and system readiness for operations
  • Ensure all work is executed in compliance with site standards, safety requirements, cleanroom protocols, and applicable engineering and regulatory expectations
  • Track contractor performance and verify work is completed according to approved scope and installation standards
  • Contribute to factory ramp success by ensuring facility systems, cleanroom infrastructure, and utility networks are ready to meet tool move-in and production timelines
  • Generate SOW for system enhancement and improvements
  • Work Permit approvals
  • Permitting and Building Code compliance
  • Develop and implement programs targeted to improve quality, efficiency and effectiveness of electrical systems.
  • Plan, develop and implement projects that are required for improvement, growth or rearrangement of existing systems.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 years or more experience in Semiconductor Facilities and/or Construction
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
  • Experience delivering MEP scope in semiconductor, cleanroom, advanced manufacturing, industrial, or high-tech facility environments
  • Experience supporting tool hook-up, factory expansion, utility upgrades, retrofit projects, construction execution, or commissioning
  • Experience working on facilities electrical and mechanical utility systems expansion in support of manufacturing or production capacity growth
  • Experience supporting cleanroom build-out, cleanroom conversion, or cleanroom infrastructure modification projects
  • Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, layouts, specifications, single-line diagrams, P&IDs, and construction documents
  • Strong coordination skills across contractors, vendors, tool owners, and cross-functional project teams
  • Working knowledge of safety, quality, and compliance requirements in construction or manufacturing environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in semiconductor fabs or cleanroom-intensive manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with facility utility systems supporting manufacturing tools, including HVAC, exhaust, chilled water, process cooling water, CDA, vacuum, gases, plumbing systems, and electrical distribution
  • Familiarity with cleanroom design considerations, pressure cascades, airflow requirements, temperature and humidity control, and contamination-sensitive environments
  • Experience working in live production, phased expansion, or brownfield upgrade environments
  • Experience balancing schedule, field execution quality, safety, and stakeholder expectations in complex projects

What Success Looks Like

  • Tool hook-up, utility expansion, and cleanroom conversion milestones are delivered safely and on schedule
  • Facility electrical and mechanical utility scope is installed and commissioned with high quality
  • Cleanroom and facility readiness support smooth tool installation and start-up
  • Field issues are identified early and resolved quickly
  • Documentation, commissioning, and turnover packages are complete and high quality
  • Stakeholders experience strong coordination, clear communication, and reliable execution.
