As a Mgr Software Engineering in Pune, you will join a diverse, passionate team, dedicated to powering the world’s payments ecosystem!

Job Summary:

Manages the activities of one or more software systems development function or software applications development function. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manages and directs ACI's development resources in accordance with corporate and division goals and objectives. Instructs and guides staff to maximize their technical, managerial, and corporate growth and development. Provides feedback and completes performance appraisals. Develops annual staff salary, training plans, and reports on the status of the staff and projects.
• Works with senior management to set the technical direction for company products and services. Leads and guides the development and maintenance products and services ensuring that they align with the company’s strategic and business plans.
• Manages product security including product risk reduction, compliance, product security training, product security software development lifecycle, and security architecture.
• Leads interaction with internal and external organizations and individuals to ensure appropriate information exchange, with the goal of properly developing the staff and successfully completing assigned projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Understand and adhere to all corporate policies to include but not limited to the ACI Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

Key Responsibilities: 

Engineering Leadership & Delivery

• Lead and grow a cross-functional team spanning backend, frontend, DevOps/Platform engineering, and Quality Engineering; drive strong ownership, execution discipline, and continuous improvement. 
• Own delivery for roadmap initiatives and platform modernization across the full SDLC: planning, design, implementation, reviews, testing, release, and production operations.  
• Establish and communicate technical direction in partnership with Product Management and Architecture to ensure the platform meets business goals and non-functional requirements.

Quality Engineering & Test Automation (Shift-Left)

• Build a “quality-first” culture with an automated testing strategy across unit/integration/e2e, with strong coverage targets and non-negotiable quality gates.  
• Implement and operationalize modern test orchestration and automation tooling, including Testkube, and enforce reliable, maintainable CI test execution. 
• Drive security and compliance testing as part of CI/CD (SAST/DAST/dependency scanning), ensuring regulated-workload readiness and auditability.  , 

AI-Enabled Engineering & Delivered AI Projects (Must-Have)

• Lead delivery of AI-enabled initiatives in two dimensions: 
  1. AI-accelerated SDLC (planning, code review, test generation, documentation, defect reduction), and
  2. AI/ML/GenAI solution delivery where AI is part of the shipped product or operational capability. 
• Establish responsible AI usage practices: teams are encouraged to use AI, but remain accountable for outputs; validate correctness, security, and maintainability before merging. 
• Enforce safe prompting and data handling: never place secrets/credentials/PCI/PII into prompts; use placeholders and abstractions.

People Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Coach engineers and QEs; build career plans, performance feedback loops, and hiring strategies to raise the talent bar. 
• Collaborate with Product, Security, Compliance, and Operations leaders to deliver outcomes with transparency, predictable execution, and clear metrics.  

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required for the job:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience. 5 years software development and/or design experience.
• Team and delivery Management or leadership experience.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed for the job:

• Prior experience in cards / payments / BFSI domain. 

Work Environment:

• Standard in-office work environment
• Some limited Travel required, may be domestic or international
