We are looking for you to join our tech team in Berlin, Munich, or Hamburg. 1KOMMA5° is creating Germany's largest one-stop-shop for the sale, installation, and servicing of solar panels, heat pumps, electricity solutions, and charging infrastructure. And the best part? They are all interconnected!

Become a part of our mission and learn about our Product & Tech team!

  • Define the Global Utility Product Vision: Set and steward the global product vision and strategy for 1KOMMA5°’s utility business — covering metering, tariffs, trading, and flexibility services. Drive the long-term roadmap for how we provide, manage, and scale energy across markets.
  • Lead and Grow your Product Team & Stakeholders: Manage and mentor a growing team of Product Managers responsible for key product domains within our utility stack. Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and innovation across commercial, technical, and operational areas.
  • Standardize and Scale Core Systems and Processes: Develop and implement global standards for systems, technical setups, and partner integrations. Ensure our retail energy products operate consistently and efficiently across markets — from tariff design to billing and data exchange.
  • Drive Operational Excellence Across Energy Markets: Oversee market operations processes including metering, trading, and market communication. Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Energy Operations, and Trading teams to embed operational excellence into product design.
  • Monitor Performance and Deliver Business Impact: Define and track KPIs across product performance, operational efficiency, customer outcomes, and profitability. Use data to inform strategic decisions and continuous improvements in the utility portfolio.
  • Align Internal and External Stakeholders: Collaborate with internal teams (Engineering, Commercial, Energy Operations) and external partners (utilities, DSOs, market operators) to ensure alignment, compliance, and shared success.
  • Anticipate Market and Regulatory Developments: Stay ahead of regulatory, commercial, and technological trends in energy retail and flexibility markets. Translate emerging opportunities and requirements into actionable product initiatives.
  • Lead Commercial and Go-to-Market Success: Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Market Leads to position and scale our energy products globally. Ensure our energy offerings deliver measurable value to customers and strengthen 1KOMMA5°’s market leadership.
  • Minimum 5+ years of product, commercial or operational leadership in the energy sector (ideally energy retail/utility, tariffs, services) across multiple markets
  • Proven experience managing product managers or cross-functional teams and owning a complex product domain with both business and operational/technical dimensions
  • Experience building or scaling products in energy retail, tariffs, metering/trading integration or flexibility services
  • Deep understanding of energy retail business — tariffs, pricing models, metering (roll-out and operations), trading/settlement, market communications (Marktkommunikationsprozesse) — across multiple countries
  • Strong familiarity with regulatory frameworks and market operations in the energy sector
  • Exposure to flexibility services, distributed energy resources (DERs), and digital energy services is highly advantageous
  • Comfortable engaging with technical teams on system architecture, data flows, integration of tools and processes (metering, billing, trading, partner platforms)
  • Strong operational discipline, ability to translate operational/process complexity into scalable product models
  • Excellent commercial awareness with strong analytical skills: you can define and interpret KPIs, build business cases, prioritise product investments and measure ROI
  • Strategic thinker who can also roll up sleeves and deliver in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and German
  • Able to influence and align internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to lead people, build strong teams, mentor product managers, and drive cross-functional collaboration
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive and comfortable operating in a high-growth, dynamic context
  • Passionate about the energy transition, renewable energy and changing how energy is delivered and consumed globally
