Caseload Overview
We are currently recruiting a casual/part-time Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) to support adult community caseloads, including services funded through Ontario Health at Home (OH atHome).
Services are delivered primarily in:
- Clients’ homes
Caseload Area:
- Brampton
- Etobicoke
- Mississauga
You will have the opportunity to:
- Provide physiotherapy interventions under the direction and supervision of a Physiotherapist
- Support adults with physical functioning, mobility, transfers, exercise programs, and home safety
- Contribute to client goals focused on independence, safety, and participation in daily activities

Responsibilities Include
Working under the supervision and delegation of a Physiotherapist, you will:
- Deliver physiotherapy treatment programs as outlined in the client’s care plan
- Implement interventions addressing mobility, strength, balance, transfers, endurance, and functional activity
- Support implementation of occupational therapy interventions, where appropriately delegated, to promote function, independence, and safety
- Provide therapy services under the direction and supervision of Physiotherapists and/or Occupational Therapists, in alignment with established care plans and assistant scope of practice
- Support clients in developing independence with physical function and activities of daily living
- Engage and educate clients and caregivers to support safe carryover of therapy programs at home
- Track progress and report outcomes to the supervising Physiotherapist to inform care plan updates
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in accordance with 1to1 Rehab standards
- Follow all health, safety, and risk-management protocols
- Participate in collaborative, team-based service delivery
- Engage in reflective practice and ongoing professional development
Qualifications
- Physiotherapy Assistant Certificate
- Experience working with adult populations in community or rehabilitation settings preferred
- Experience supporting individuals recovering from stroke, with a focus on collaborative, client-centred care planning to promote independence, functional recovery, and quality of life.
- Experience working across both Physiotherapy Assistant and Occupational Therapy Assistant scopes within adult rehabilitation settings is considered a strong asset
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and families
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently while following delegated directions and care plans
- Experience delivering therapy in-person (virtual experience considered an asset)
- Valid G driver’s licence and daily access to a reliable vehicle
- Current Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Professional liability insurance (minimum $5 million per occurrence)
