Responsibilities
~1 min read- Lead and oversee direct and indirect tax compliance, including corporate income tax, VAT/GST, withholding tax, and other applicable filings across Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, and other APAC jurisdictions.
- Coordinate with local Finance teams, external tax advisors, and auditors to ensure timely and accurate tax filings, tax positions, computations, and statutory tax disclosures.
- Oversee quarterly and annual tax provisions, including current and deferred tax calculations, and ensure accurate tax reporting for management and statutory purposes.
- Establish and maintain consistent tax processes, controls, documentation, and governance in line with local regulations and Group policies.
- Lead regional transfer pricing compliance, including the preparation, review, and maintenance of transfer pricing documentation and related disclosures.
- Review intercompany transactions, service arrangements, cost allocations, financing arrangements, and cross-border payments to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and the arm’s-length principle.
- Provide tax input on cross-border business models, intercompany agreements, payment flows, and group structures to support business objectives and manage tax risks.
- Monitor international tax developments, assess their impact on the Group, and identify opportunities to optimize the Group’s tax position while maintaining compliance and appropriate risk management.
- Lead and coordinate tax audits, investigations, enquiries, disputes, and other tax authority engagements across Thailand and relevant regional jurisdictions.
- Prepare and review responses to tax authority queries and audit requests, develop audit defense strategies, and manage tax controversy matters through to resolution.
- Coordinate with external advisors, auditors, tax authorities, and internal stakeholders on complex or high-risk tax matters, maintaining effective professional relationships.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate tax risks across the Group while strengthening tax governance, controls, documentation, and regional risk management frameworks.
- Provide timely, practical, and commercially focused tax advice to Finance, Operations, Product, Legal, and other business teams.
- Advise on the tax implications of new products, payment flows, commercial arrangements, market entry, and business expansion.
- Support cross-border transactions and initiatives, including structuring, licensing, intercompany arrangements, and regional operating models.
- Partner with stakeholders to assess tax implications early, providing practical recommendations that balance technical tax requirements with commercial objectives and operational needs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Finance, business stakeholders, and senior management across the region.
- Manage external tax advisors and professional firms to ensure high-quality, consistent, and cost-effective tax support.
- Establish and maintain regional tax policies, procedures, controls, and documentation standards in line with Group requirements.
- Act as a key tax point of contact for regional and global stakeholders, promoting tax awareness and supporting business teams in managing tax implications effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Taxation, or Law.
- Professional qualification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, CIMA, or a recognized tax qualification is preferred.
- 6–10+ years of relevant tax experience, ideally combining Big 4/professional services and in-house corporate tax experience.
- Proven experience across corporate income tax, indirect tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing, tax reporting, and tax controversy, including hands-on management of tax audits, enquiries, disputes, and external advisors.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex tax matters into practical recommendations and manage multiple priorities across jurisdictions.
