That's where this role comes in. You'll help shape and strengthen a growing security architecture function, influencing decisions across the organisation and helping teams deliver secure, resilient and trusted technology. It's an opportunity to make a visible impact, work across a diverse range of technologies and stakeholders, and help establish the standards, patterns and practices that will support Co-op's future.
Responsibilities
~1 min read• Review technology solutions, architectures and designs to identify security risks and recommend appropriate controls
• Provide security guidance and assurance throughout the lifecycle of projects, products and technology initiatives
• Partner with architects, engineers, product teams and business stakeholders to embed security-by-design principles into decision-making
• Develop and promote security standards, patterns and best practices across the organisation
• Assess emerging technologies and security risks, ensuring solutions remain secure, resilient and fit for purpose
• Support architecture governance processes, providing expert input on security considerations and risk mitigation
• Build strong relationships with internal teams and third-party suppliers, acting as a trusted security advisor
• Keep up to date with cyber security trends, threats and industry developments to help drive continuous improvement

• Significant experience in cyber security, security architecture, security engineering or a related technical discipline
• Strong knowledge across areas such as cloud, networks, infrastructure and secure solution design
• Experience reviewing technical designs and providing security assurance, recommendations and risk-based guidance
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex technical challenges and identify practical solutions
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence and challenge constructively at all levels
• Experience working within complex technology environments, collaborating with multiple teams to deliver secure outcomes
