Quick Summary
A-Core is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Technician with 1–2 years of experience performing concrete scanning and subsurface investigations on various construction projects. The ideal candidate will be reliable and have experience operating GSSI and/or Proceq GPR equipment, interpreting scan data, and communicating findings to project teams verbally and in the form of project reports in commercial, industrial, and residential settings.
This position requires working in physically demanding conditions, including at heights, kneeling or bending for extended periods, and exposure to varying weather conditions. Candidates must be willing to travel and respond to short-notice project needs.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Perform concrete scanning and subsurface investigations using GSSI and/or Proceq scanning equipment.
- →Maintain GSSI and/or Proceq scanning equipment.
- →Locate and identify reinforcing steel, post-tension cables, conduits, utilities, voids, and other embedded objects within concrete and subsurface structures.
- →Mark and document findings accurately for customers and project stakeholders.
- →Interpret scan results and communicate findings clearly to field personnel, project managers, and clients.
- →Complete finding reports, project documentation, and equipment maintenance records.
- →Follow company safety policies and project-specific safety requirements.
- →Maintain a professional appearance and represent A-Core positively on all job sites.
- →Assist with other specialty inspection and scanning needs as required.
Requirements
~1 min read- 1–2 years of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) experience on commercial, industrial, or residential construction projects.
- Experience with GSSI and/or Proceq GPR systems.
- Valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret scan data.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and reliability.
- Basic computer and mobile device proficiency for reporting and documentation.
- Ability to work with arms extended overhead for extended periods.
- Ability to work at heights utilizing scissor lifts, aerial lifts, ladders, and at heights.
- Ability to kneel, crouch, crawl, and work close to the ground for prolonged periods.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and active construction environments.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Indoor and outdoor construction environments.
- Exposure to heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, and other environmental conditions.
- Frequent interaction with construction personnel, contractors, and project managers.
- Occasional work outside normal business hours to support project schedules.
- Approximately 10% overnight travel and out-of-town work.
- Ability and willingness to travel with short notice when project demands require.
