A24 is seeking a Production Tax & Incentives Executive. As a key member of our Production Tax and Incentives team, you will play an integral role in managing all stages of the production incentives lifecycle - from initial applications and compliance tracking through certification, audit, and ultimate monetization. You’ll partner closely with teams across Production Finance, Production, and Post-Production, as well as with Corporate Finance, Legal, Corporate Tax, and Accounting, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and strategic alignment across departments. You will contribute to maximizing available incentives, and help maintain the studio’s compliance. This role can be based in our West Hollywood or New York office.

Initial Responsibilities

  • Facilitate both domestic and international production incentive processes across all A24 productions (Film, TV, Unscripted, etc), guiding each assigned production through its entire incentive lifecycle, from entity structuring, all the way through monetization
  • Research and prepare summaries of domestic and international incentive programs
  • Manage internal reporting and tracking databases, tracking the productions’ overall cost information, with a focus on production incentive data points such as up-to-date incentive estimates, monetization timelines, and overall status
  • Oversee overall application processes for assigned productions
  • In tandem with the Production Finance team, be responsible for reviewing the first draft of production incentive applications - gathering the various documents required in the application phases
  • Review production budgets to ensure proper tagging and assumptions, as well as providing feedback to production accountants and producers
  • Partner with on-set accounting teams to ensure that budget/GL tagging is consistent with program rules, and that all production requirement deadlines are understood and met.
  • Act as an advisor to production teams on potential opportunities by researching and staying up to date with legislative changes, with a primary focus on project-level incentive programs to ensure that productions are utilizing every available credit.
  • Manage relationships with third-party CPA auditors and tax service providers, overseeing all aspects of the audit process - including tracking and reporting timelines, gathering required documentation, obtaining preliminary opinion letter estimates, and ensuring all materials are submitted accurately and timely to initiate and complete audits.
  • Manage ad-hoc incentive information requests and analyses, including research projects to be shared with leadership
  • Review tax language in various agreements
  • Assist in review of tax returns which include tax credit claims or other incentive-related reporting
  • Work closely with Legal and Finance to ensure that tax credit financing documentation is prepared and readily available to meet applicable deadlines.
  • Assist with the fulfillment of required end credit obligations

Ideal Candidate

  • 6+ years of previous experience in an incentive or tax role at a studio
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or tax preferred
  • Motivated self-starter skilled in multitasking, time management, and strong organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to be tailored to different audiences
  • Strong experience with Movie Magic Budgeting
  • Experience with Google Sheets/Excel and Airtable
