Role Summary
We are looking for a Senior UX Designer with deep poker knowledge to help reinvent how recreational players learn poker through AI-driven coaching and gameplay-first experiences.
QuintAce is not another solver, HUD, or chart-heavy poker tool. Our mission is to translate complex poker theory, GTO concepts, and exploitative play into simple, intuitive, and engaging learning moments that feel natural to recreational players.
This role sits at the intersection of poker strategy, AI-assisted learning, and modern UX design. You will design experiences that help players feel improvement, not study theory.
What You Will Own
AI-First Poker Learning UX
● Design end-to-end user experiences for AI-driven poker analysis and coaching, including:
○ Post-session feedback
○ Mistake detection
○ Actionable improvement suggestions
○ Drill-based and gameplay-driven learning loops
● Translate complex poker concepts (position, ranges, exploitative adjustments, stack depth) into clear, non-intimidating UX flows for recreational players.
● Shape how AI insights are presented so they are fast to grasp, emotionally motivating, and actionable.
Reinventing Poker Coaching Tools
● Rethink traditional poker tools (charts, solvers, stats-heavy dashboards) and propose ground-up UX alternatives:
○ Minimal cognitive load
○ No jargon-first explanations
○ Insight-driven rather than data-driven UI
○ Minimal cognitive load
○ No jargon-first explanations
○ Insight-driven rather than data-driven UI
● Design experiences that teach poker through interaction and play, not static theory.
UX Strategy & Product Thinking
● Define UX principles for recreational poker players (learning pace, feedback timing, motivation triggers).
● Create user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes for new features and experiments.
● Work closely with Product, AI, and Engineering to quickly validate ideas and iterate in a fast-paced environment.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
● Partner with:
○ Product managers to shape feature scope and learning outcomes
○ AI/ML teams to translate model outputs into human-friendly experiences
○ Engineers to ensure designs are realistic, performant, and scalable
● Act as a UX advocate, ensuring clarity and simplicity are never compromised.
Required Experience & Skills
Poker Expertise (Non-Negotiable)
● Strong understanding of poker fundamentals:
○ NLHE core concepts (position, bet sizing, ranges, EV)
○ Recreational vs regular player behavior
○ Common mistakes and learning blockers for non-pro players
● Ability to reason about why players make mistakes, not just what the correct play is.
UX & Product Design Expertise
● 5+ years of experience in UX/Product Design for complex digital products.
● Proven ability to simplify highly complex systems into intuitive user experiences.
● Strong proficiency in Figma (components, auto-layout, prototyping).
● Experience designing:
○ Analytics-heavy products
○ Learning or coaching tools
○ AI-powered or data-driven interfaces
Mindset & Ways of Working
● Comfortable working in high-velocity, ambiguous environments.
● Highly adaptable - able to pivot UX direction based on product insights and experimentation.
● Strong systems thinker who can design scalable UX patterns, not just screens.
● Opinionated, but collaborative - able to defend UX decisions with logic and user reasoning.
Preferred (Strong Plus)
● Experience with AI-powered products or decision-support tools.
● Background in gaming, poker platforms, or competitive strategy products.
● Experience designing for non-expert users interacting with expert-level systems.
● Familiarity with behavioral psychology, habit formation, or learning science.
What Success Looks Like in This Role
● Recreational players understand why they are improving, not just that they are.
● Complex poker feedback feels simple, encouraging, and motivating.
● QuintAce feels fundamentally different from traditional poker tools.
● New users reach their “aha moment” fast - without charts, jargon, or overwhelm.
Why Join QuintAce
● You will help define a new category of AI poker coaching UX.
● Real ownership over product direction and learning philosophy.
● Opportunity to deeply influence how AI teaches complex skills to mass-market users.
● A team that values clarity, speed, and rethinking first principles.
