City of Hope’s System & Clinical Integration and Optimization vertical consists of four teams responsible for delivering a holistic and distinctive single COH experience that enables integrated solutions, scaled programs, consistent and standard operations and advances our COH mission. Within this vertical, the System & Clinical Integration team enables delivery excellence for the System Vice President, Integration and the other teams within - System & Clinical Integration and Optimization by driving strategic alignment and clarity, enabling cross-functional collaboration, establishing operational best practices, and accelerating execution of priority initiatives.

  

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Strategic Program Delivery

    • Lead execution of cross-functional strategic initiatives.

    • Provide leadership across complex, multi-workstream efforts, managing risks, dependencies, and execution plans.

    • Drive initiative acceleration through proactive issue resolution, risk escalation, and cross-functional coordination.

    • Define and implement appropriate program management standards, tools, and governance (e.g., status reporting, governance meeting structure, etc.)

  • Leadership Alignment and Decision Enablement.

    • Develop strategy, materials, narratives, and insights for vertical leadership forums and integration portfolio forums.

    • Lead agenda development, meeting structuring, and materials orchestration.

    • Track and support execution of leadership commitments, decisions, and action items.

    • Adhoc support for System VP, Integration-Clinical Enterprise (e.g. reviewing or preparing board slides, draft talking points for strategic commitments, etc) and other senior executives aligned to integration efforts and initiatives.

  • System & Vertical Engagement & Collaboration.

    • Design and implement cross-functional engagement strategies and forums that strengthen system and vertical alignment and collaboration further enabling an integrated system..

    • Establish and promote shared ways of working, teaming practices, and collaboration frameworks.

    • Lead development of a Vertical Engagement Action Plan and System Integration Roadmap to enhance transparency, accountability, and connectedness.

    • Lead demand and capacity management processes, ensuring appropriate alignment of resources to priorities.

    • Build and maintain strong partnerships across vertical and other system support teams (i.e., Finance, Strategy, etc.).

  • Operations & Business Management

    • Manage financial and operational activities across vertical functions, including budget planning, forecasting, and performance tracking

    • Monitor performance against Operational Effectiveness (OE) targets and financial metrics

    • Maintain vertical operational reporting infrastructure

    • Establish standard processes, tools, and governance for vertical operational activities

    • Ensure effective coordination of contracts, systems, and administrative processes supporting the vertical

  • Vertical Capability Building & Teaming

    • Mentor and coach vertical team members on program management and operational excellence capabilities

    • Develop and refine tools, templates, and playbooks that support consistent delivery and operations

    • Foster a culture of collaboration, rigor, enterprise thinking, and accountability.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Bachelors degree.

  • 8-10 years of experience in leading and managing projects (program management and/or PMO).

  • Preferred experience: 

    • Advanced degree (MBA, MPH or MHA is preferred). 

    • PMP Cert.      

    • Track record of delivery and expertise in program management and PMO preferred.

    • Experience of delivering on large scale transformational programs preferred.

    • Past experience operating as the Project Manager is preferred.

    • Consulting firm experience preferred.

    • Healthcare experience preferred.

    • Demonstrated history of effective leadership, building and developing high performing teams, establishing performance standards, and transitioning staff through organizational change.
