Bloomberg Healthcare Early College Internship

8:30am - 12:30pm, Monday-Thursday

Bloomberg Philanthropies Healthcare Education High School Interns will support daily operations in a healthcare environment while gaining exposure to various departments. This role is observational and nonclinical, focused on professional skill-building, teamwork, and learning how healthcare systems function. 

• Currently enrolled at Hawthorne Academy of Health Sciences (typically ages 16–18). 

• Interest in healthcare careers and willingness to learn. 

• Ability to follow instructions, work in teams, and maintain confidentiality. 

• Basic computer and communication skills. 

• Successful completion of required onboarding (e.g., orientation, safety training, health clearances per facility policy). 

• Parent/guardian consent if under 18. 

• Ability to stand and walk for periods of time. 

• Work may occur in clinical, office, or simulation settings. 

• →Follow all hospital policies, including safety, confidentiality, and infection prevention. 

• →Assist with basic administrative tasks such as organizing materials, de-identified data entry, filing, and preparing supplies. 

• →Assists with research projects, data analysis, and/or creating various reports 

• →Shadow staff members to learn about clinical and operational workflows. 

• →Participate with the team in training, check-ins, and assigned learning activities. 

• →Maintain professional behavior, punctuality, and communication always.
