Hospital Medicine PRN NP/PA

This is a PRN position reporting directly to the APP Manager. Schedules are developed every three months to provide coverage for PTO, FMLA, illness call-outs, and periods of high patient census across multiple Wake Region Hospital Medicine locations. The schedule is subject to change based on operational needs, with changes communicated no later than 6:00 p.m. the day prior, whenever feasible.

The Wake Hospital Medicine team is seeking a PRN Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to provide flexible inpatient coverage across multiple Wake Region Hospital Medicine locations.

Position Details
PRN position supporting Hospital Medicine services throughout the Wake Region. Reports directly to the APP Manager. Provides coverage for PTO, FMLA, illness call-outs, and periods of high patient census. Schedule developed every three months in collaboration with the APP Manager and scheduling team.
Assignments may include day and swing shifts based on operational needs.
PRN APPs assigned to a swing shift will not be scheduled for a day shift the following day. Schedule may be modified to accommodate unexpected call-outs, emergencies, or changes in patient census, with notice provided no later than 6:00 p.m. the day before whenever feasible. Every effort will be made to minimize the number of different services and hospital locations worked within the same week and to provide continuity of patient care assignments.
