Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Clinic Float Pool

Schedule availability should range from 7:00am - 6:30pm.  Start and end times are anytime within those hours, however, most shifts are scheduled from 8:00am - 4:30pm or 8:30am - 5:00pm. This position is also eligible for a float Pool Differential – $3.00 LPN.  Must have reliable transportation.

Our float pool supports a variety of specialties such as Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Women’s Health, and Integrative Medicine.  This position will float to the following clinics:   

·         Whitefish Bay - 325 E. Silver Spring Dr

·         Midtown - 5818 W Capitol Dr

·         River Center- 1575 River Center Dr

·         Third Ward- 163 N Milwaukee St

·         Edgerton- 6901 W Edgerton Ave

·         St. Luke's Family Practice - 2801 W Kinnickinnic Suite 250.

·         St. Luke’s Faculty Physicians - 2801 W Kinnickinnic Suite 770

·         Wiselives- 8320 W. Bluemound Rd

·         Sinai Family Care Center - 1020 N 12th St

·         Sinai Internal Medicine - 1020 N 12th St

·         Sinai Women’s Health - 1020 N 12th St

Summary:

Support the care team by performing clinical and administrative tasks that are vital to patient care. Licensed Practical Nurses must adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines to ensure patient safety and confidentiality. They are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and compassion during all interactions.

·         Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices, and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days unless department leader has determined it is not required

·         GED or HS Equivalency Diploma

·         Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved

·         1 year of more LPN experience preferred.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you’ll play a vital role in the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day. 

As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will:

·         Welcome patients and support their transition into care.

·         Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.

·         Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.

·         Administer medications and vaccines as directed.

·         Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.

·         Document care accurately in the electronic health record.

·         Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.
