- Will start out on a Monday–Friday, daytime hours schedule
- Schedule will then transition into an evening, night and weekend rounding schedule every 3rd weekend.
- Monday-Friday, overnight primary call (scheduled rotation)
- Initial onboarding at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital for high-volume advanced neurovascular training.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Respond to inpatient consults for the general and neurovascular services and respond to hyperacute strokes.
- →Perform daily rounds, progress notes, and patient assessments.
- →Prepare patients for neurosurgical and neurointerventional procedures (pre- and post-op).
- →Manage ER and hospital consults; one clinic day per week.
- →Collaborate with multidisciplinary general and neurovascular teams.
- →Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute, critical, and chronic neurological conditions in an inpatient setting.
- →Obtain histories, perform physical exams, and develop differential diagnoses.
- →Prescribe medications, therapies, and treatments as appropriate.
- →Interpret diagnostic studies and collaborate with physicians on treatment plans.
- →Provide patient education on disease management, preventive health, and recovery.
- →Coordinate care across multiple services, including pre-op planning and discharge.
- →Document care plans and maintain records per established standards.
- →Offer clinical guidance to nursing staff and ensure continuity of care.

Requirements

- Exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards; PPE required.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with patient transfers.
