As the Demand Manager, you will be responsible for leading the affiliate Demand Planning, Commercial Review, and end-to-end New Product Introduction (NPI) processes. The role develops and manages demand forecasts, delivers business insights, and drives cross-functional alignment across Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, and Area stakeholders. By ensuring effective forecast management, NPI governance, and data-driven decision-making, the position supports customer service excellence, inventory optimization, successful product launches, and sustainable business growth.
Responsibilities
~3 min read- →Lead the affiliate Demand Planning and Commercial Review processes, ensuring the development of an accurate and consensus-driven demand forecast.
- →Identify and optimize the utilization of planning tools and systems to support business objectives and improve forecasting effectiveness.
- →Facilitate Commercial Review meetings and consolidate plans across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders, reviewing assumptions, risks, opportunities, and vulnerabilities to develop a robust demand plan.
- →Provide validated demand forecasts, key assumptions, risks, and opportunities as inputs into the affiliate S&OP process.
- →Ensure Supply Chain Operations has clear visibility of customer demand and work closely with Supply Chain teams to continuously improve planning processes, forecast accuracy, and customer service levels.
- →Own and monitor forecast accuracy and bias metrics and implement corrective actions to drive continuous improvement.
- →Consolidate Affiliate’s Approved Demand Statements (ADS) and prepare timely demand reports and submissions for Area stakeholders.
- →Direct and consolidate demand forecasts with major customers and distributors where applicable.
- →Highlight, investigate, and communicate demand and supply exceptions, including abnormal demand patterns, inventory risks, and supply constraints.
- →Provide in-market, to-market, and inventory analyses to support business planning and decision-making.
- →Manage the publication, maintenance, and integrity of planning and reporting data across all relevant systems and local planning and finance models.
- →Lead the end-to-end New Product Introduction (NPI) process for the affiliate, from business planning and launch preparation through execution and post-launch review.
- →Partner closely with Marketing to develop, validate, and maintain demand forecasts, assumptions, and business cases for new product launches.
- →Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders including Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, Supply Chain, Commercial teams, and Area partners to ensure launch readiness and successful product introductions.
- →Establish and monitor launch timelines, milestones, dependencies, and critical path activities to ensure timely execution.
- →Identify, assess, and mitigate risks that may impact launch timing, product availability, forecast performance, or commercial objectives.
- →Act as the affiliate super user and primary point of contact for the Global NPI tool, ensuring data accuracy, governance, and timely updates.
- →Monitor launch and post-launch performance against forecast and business objectives, providing insights and recommendations for corrective actions where necessary.
- →Provide analytical support to Commercial, Finance, and Leadership teams through routine and ad hoc reporting and analysis.
- →Support sales force effectiveness through sales reporting, channel performance analysis, and Commercial Review preparation.
- →Analyze sales forecasts versus actual performance by product, brand, channel, and customer segment to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
- →Track assigned Area and Corporate KPIs and provide actionable recommendations to improve affiliate performance.
- →Deliver data-driven insights and performance measurement to support strategic and operational business decisions.
- →Accountable for identifying opportunities through analytics and providing strategic direction and prioritization for improvement initiatives. Develop and execute improvement roadmaps as required.
- →Implement continuous improvement and change management initiatives utilizing Abbott Business Excellence principles or equivalent methodologies.
- →Collaborate effectively with Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, Market Access, and Area stakeholders to drive business performance and organizational objectives.
- →Facilitate Best Practice Teams and support functional leaders in identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities.
- →Effectively communicate insights, recommendations, risks, and business plans to cross-functional teams and management.
- →Lead or participate in cross-functional projects and business initiatives as assigned.
- →Perform other duties and special projects as assigned in support of affiliate and organizational objectives.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Demand Planning, Demand Management, Supply Chain Planning, Commercial Excellence, or Business Analytics, with a demonstrated track record of delivering business results.
- Experience leading demand planning processes, forecasting activities, and cross-functional business reviews.
- Experience managing or coordinating New Product Introduction (NPI) projects is preferred.
- Experience in a multinational pharmaceutical, healthcare, FMCG, or related industry is preferred.
- Experience working with demand planning, ERP, or business intelligence systems (e.g., SAP APO, SAP, Power BI) is an advantage.

- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
- Experience with planning, reporting, and business intelligence tools is an advantage (SAP APO, SAP, Cognos, JDA, Power BI, etc.).
- Professional certification in Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Project Management, or Data Analytics (e.g., APICS, IBF, PMP) is an advantage.
