We’re redefining consumer lending in the UK, and beyond. Using advanced AI and Open Banking data, we make fair, affordable personal finance available to more people. While traditional lenders rely almost entirely on credit scores, we look at the full financial picture - how much you spend, and what you can afford to repay to build a deeper, more accurate understanding of each customer's unique financial situation.
About the Role
~1 min readWe’re expanding access to affordable credit and we’re doing it by launching new lending products that genuinely move the needle. We launch products at a rapid speed, often working with other leading fintechs and consumer / ecommerce companies to offer affordable credit at the right point in the customer journey. We operate in a fast-moving, highly regulated environment where products must work end-to-end from day one—not just technically, but operationally for customers.
As a Product Associate within our mortgage team, you will play a critical role in making sure our products are launch-ready and operable at scale. You’ll work closely with Operations, Product, Engineering, Data Science and commercial stakeholders to ensure new mortgage and lending products are launch-ready, operationally scalable, and fully supported across the customer journey from day one
This role is designed for top-tier STEM or Economics graduates who want to build a deep understanding of how products actually work in the real world, take responsibility early, and progress towards a Product Manager role at a fast-growing, industry-leading fintech.
Responsibilities
~1 min readWork closely with Operations, Product, Data Science and Engineering teams to ensure mortgage and lending products, features, and customer journeys are fully supported at launch and operationally scalable as volumes grow
Help define and document operational processes, edge cases, customer scenarios, and failure paths
Ensure tooling, data visibility, and workflows allow teams to support customers effectively from day one
Act as a key point of contact during launches and early post-launch periods, helping triage and resolve live issues
Support BAU product operations by investigating customer and partner issues, identifying root causes, and working with engineering and product to fix them
Analyse operational data to identify recurring problems and improvement opportunities
Help ensure issues are properly closed out, not just discussed
Support Product Managers with discovery, delivery coordination, and partner onboarding
Help with product testing, release validation, and regression checks
Learn how APIs, decisioning flows, and data pipelines work in practice
Analyse product performance across conversion, approval rates, origination volumes, and credit outcomes
Build dashboards and ad-hoc analyses to support decision-making across Product and Operations
Form clear hypotheses from data and help test improvements
A top-tier STEM or Economics graduate (computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, economics, or similar)
0–2 years of experience, including internships, placements, or early-career roles with real responsibility
Practical experience beyond academia, e.g. internships, startups, consulting projects, fintech, data, or operational roles
Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data (Excel skills are a must have, Python or equivalent skills are a strong plus)
Structured problem-solver who can break down messy, real-world problems
Technically curious and comfortable working with systems, even if you’re not an engineer
Clear communicator who can work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams
You take ownership and follow through until problems are actually solved
You’re comfortable working in ambiguity and don’t wait for perfect instructions
You care deeply about customer outcomes and operational reality
You speak up when something doesn’t make sense and help fix it
You’re willing to put in extra effort at key moments (e.g. launches, live incidents), knowing this is where real learning happens
This role serves as a stepping stone to Product Management, offering a clear progression path. As a Product Associate, you’ll be expected to:
Build deep product and operational knowledge
Consistently own and solve problems end-to-end with real business and customer impact
Demonstrate strong judgement, data-driven thinking, and stakeholder management
High performers will progress to Junior Product Manager as they begin to:
Own small features or product areas independently
Lead defined workstreams within launches
Take direct ownership of partner-facing or customer-facing product improvements
Progression is based on impact and ownership, not time served.
