We are currently searching for an experienced Civil Engineer to support our Southwest Region located in New Orleans, LA.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and have EI license.

Responsibilities

→Assisting in the design, construction, and maintenance of infrastructures
→These projects may include bridges, roads, tunnels, water, and sewage systems
→Different roadway design components include typical sections, geometric layouts, drainage analysis, maintenance of traffic plans
→Assignments will also involve tasks associated with producing a set of construction documents including drafting, computations, specifications, and cost estimate
→Mentor junior engineers
→Perform detailed engineering calculations & analysis, and utilizes design software to solve complex issues
→Responsible for project schedules and client communications

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
4 - 6 years of related experience
Registered EI license
Experience with Microstation, Geopak, OpenRoads, and/or AutoCAD
Has knowledge of local municipalities, funding sources, public infrastructure, and traffic
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
