Job Summary

To support the Head of Leadership, Learning & Talent in the implementation of talent management, succession planning, leadership development, learning, and workforce capability initiatives across Absa Mozambique. The role provides specialist expertise, operational leadership, talent insights, governance oversight, and stakeholder support to ensure the effective execution of Leadership, Learning & Talent strategies and programmes.

  • Support the implementation of the Mozambique Talent Management and Succession Planning framework.
  • Coordinate and facilitate talent review and succession planning processes across business units.
  • Maintain oversight of succession pipelines for critical and leadership roles and track implementation of agreed development actions.
  • Monitor talent risks, succession gaps, retention concerns and readiness levels and escalate findings to the Head of Leadership, Learning & Talent.
  • Produce talent insights and recommendations to support talent and workforce decisions.
  • Support the identification, assessment and development of high-potential talent and future leaders.
  • Support the design, execution and evaluation of leadership development programmes, academies and talent initiatives.
  • Partner with Human Capital Partners and business leaders to identify capability requirements and development priorities.
  • Coordinate development interventions for succession candidates, emerging leaders and critical talent populations.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and career development across the organisation.
  • Monitor programme effectiveness and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers and Human Capital stakeholders on talent, succession, development and career matters.
  • Support business units in identifying talent requirements and implementing appropriate talent solutions.
  • Provide guidance to managers on talent review outcomes, development planning and talent management processes.
  • Facilitate talent discussions, calibration sessions and workforce planning conversations where required.
  • Analyse talent, succession, learning and workforce data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards and presentations for governance forums, Executive Committees and Human Capital leadership.
  • Monitor key talent metrics including bench strength, succession coverage, readiness, internal mobility, retention and programme outcomes.
  • Conduct market and talent intelligence research to support workforce and talent planning decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with Talent Management, Succession Planning, Leadership Development and Learning governance standards.
  • Maintain accurate and auditable talent records, assessments and programme documentation.
  • Support vendor governance processes and ensure compliance with procurement and sourcing requirements.
  • Review vendor deliverables and monitor service quality against agreed standards.
  • Support talent-related risk assessments and recommend mitigating actions.
  • Educate and guide stakeholders on talent governance requirements and risk management principles.
  • Contribute to strengthening the organisation's control culture through effective governance and compliance practices.
  • Coordinate the delivery of strategic Leadership, Learning & Talent initiatives and projects.
  • Manage relationships with learning providers, assessment partners, universities, recruitment agencies and talent vendors.
  • Track programme milestones, budgets, risks and benefits realisation.
  • Ensure effective communication and stakeholder engagement across all talent and leadership initiatives.
  • Represent the Leadership, Learning & Talent function in project meetings and cross-functional forums where required.
