Job Summary

Minimum 7 to 10 years' experience within the Short-Term Insurance industry.
Minimum 5 years' experience in Product Management, Product Development, Portfolio Management, or Product Strategy. Proven experience within Personal Lines, Homeowners, Household Contents, or Property Insurance products.
Demonstrated success in managing product portfolios and driving commercial performance.
Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders and leading strategic initiatives.
Strong understanding of insurance regulations, governance frameworks, and market trends.

Product Enhancement: Remain abreast of industry standards to identify new product opportunities. | Risk and Control: Continuously review product processes to identify areas of real and potential risk within the Product | Product Analysis: Review Product process to continuously look for enhancements within the product process | Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with critical stakeholders such as tech, operations, channel etc to ensure optimal product delivery end to end

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the product strategy for the Homeowners Insurance portfolio.
  • Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, including product design, development, enhancement, and maintenance.
  • Drive portfolio growth, profitability, retention, and market competitiveness.
  • Monitor product performance and identify opportunities for optimisation and innovation.
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer insight reviews.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims, Distribution, Marketing, Compliance, Operations, and Technology teams.
  • Prepare business cases and recommendations to support product enhancements and new product initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and governance standards.
  • Support strategic initiatives that enhance customer experience and business performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in:

    • Business Management
    • Commerce
    • Finance
    • Insurance
    • Economics
    • Marketing
    • Actuarial Science
    • or a related field
  • Relevant Short-Term Insurance qualifications will be advantageous.

  • Postgraduate qualification (Honours, MBA, MCom, or equivalent) is advantageous.

  • FAIS Regulatory Examination (RE5) is advantageous.

  • Minimum 7 to 10 years' experience within the Short-Term Insurance industry.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Product Management, Product Development, Portfolio Management, or Product Strategy.
  • Proven experience within Personal Lines, Homeowners, Household Contents, or Property Insurance products.
  • Demonstrated success in managing product portfolios and driving commercial performance.
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders and leading strategic initiatives.
