Job Summary
This role is ideally suited to professionals with experience in Banking, particularly within Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB), who are looking to apply their strategic, commercial and analytical expertise to shape business performance and strategic direction.The Senior Strategy Analyst supports strategic decision-making, performance management and execution across the Bank, with a particular focus on the Corporate & Investment Banking business. Working closely with senior leaders, the role provides insight-led recommendations, evaluates strategic opportunities, monitors business performance and supports the delivery of key strategic initiatives.
The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of CIB business models, client dynamics and performance drivers, combined with a solid commercial acumen and strong analytical capabilities to translate complex market, financial and business information into actionable insights that support growth, competitiveness and sustainable value creation.
Support strategic analysis and planning activities across Corporate & Investment Banking, and broader business portfolios.
Analyse business performance, client trends, portfolio dynamics and revenue drivers to identify strategic opportunities and performance improvement actions.
Assess the strategic implications of market, client and industry developments on business performance and future growth.
Deliver insight-led recommendations that support strategic decision-making and prioritisation.
Monitor macroeconomic, regulatory and industry developments affecting banking and financial services.
Assess implications for the CIB business, institutional clients, and broader strategic priorities.
Conduct market, client and competitor analysis to identify emerging opportunities, threats and positioning gaps.
Develop actionable insights and strategic responses informed by external market intelligence.
Support the development and refresh of strategic plans, including Short-Term Plans (STP) and Medium-Term Plans (MTP).
Conduct strategic, financial and commercial analysis to evaluate opportunities, business cases and investment decisions.
Facilitate strategic planning discussions, workshops and business reviews with senior stakeholders.
Support the evaluation of strategic trade-offs and prioritisation decisions through structured analysis.
Develop and maintain strategic performance dashboards, scorecards and management reporting tools.
Monitor performance against strategic objectives, identifying trends, risks and areas requiring intervention.
Track delivery and value realisation of strategic initiatives and transformation programmes.
Support governance forums through performance reporting, business reviews and executive decision-support materials.
Prepare high-quality Board and executive-level presentations, briefing notes and strategic reviews.
Present insights and recommendations clearly and confidently to senior stakeholders.
Build strong relationships across business, Finance, Risk, Treasury, and Group functions to ensure alignment and effective execution.
Act as a trusted analytical partner to leadership teams on strategic and business performance matters.
Requirements
~1 min readMinimum 5-8 years' experience in strategy, business management, strategic planning, consulting, financial analysis or related roles.
Experience within banking or financial services.
Prior exposure to Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) environments is strongly preferred, with experience in one or more of the following areas: Corporate and Institutional Banking, Investment Banking, Capital Markets or Corporate Finance and Transaction Banking, Structured Finance or Trade Finance.
Exposure may have been gained through strategy, business management, performance management, product management, financial analysis, consulting or front-office support roles within a CIB environment.
