Job Summary
To perform financial analysis and provide financial accounting services.We are looking for a Profitability Analyst to join the Advice & Investments Finance team. This role is responsible for providing insightful financial and performance analytics that support business decision-making, profitability management and adviser performance across the Advice & Investments business.
The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, Regional Managers, Performance Managers and other key stakeholders, translating financial and operational data into meaningful insights and supporting the effective management of adviser remuneration, incentives, campaigns and budgets.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Analyse and monitor business and adviser profitability, performance and earnings, identifying trends, variances and opportunities for improvement.
- →Prepare and maintain monthly, quarterly and annual financial and performance reporting for management and Exco.
- →Track adviser performance and earnings, providing regular reporting and insights to Performance and Regional Managers.
- →Manage and maintain adviser and new-joiner budgets, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting against approved budgets.
- →Perform monthly, quarterly and annual bonus and incentive calculations and simulations, including discretionary incentives.
- →Manage the administration and reporting of incentives, vouchers and campaign rewards.
- →Perform monthly gross-up tax calculations relating to vouchers, rewards and discretionary incentives.
- →Track and report on national and provincial campaigns, including monitoring performance against campaign objectives and communicating results to relevant stakeholders.
- →Monitor and report on Gated Leadership Council (GLC) expenditure and related financial performance.
- →Prepare regular external engagement and campaign reporting.
- →Provide accurate and timely financial analysis and reporting in response to ad hoc requests from senior stakeholders, Performance Managers and Regional Managers.
- →Develop and maintain reporting and analytical tools to improve the efficiency, accuracy and accessibility of management information.
- →Support Regional Managers through training and guidance on relevant systems, business rules, Adviser Value Proposition (AVP) and campaign frameworks.
- →Partner with Finance and business stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve profitability, performance and financial outcomes across Advice & Investments.
- →Support the broader Finance team with financial analysis, reporting and business insights as required.
Minimum requirements
An applicable Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in one of the following or a related field:

- →Data Analytics
- →Mathematics or another relevant quantitative discipline:
- →Experience in financial analysis, management reporting, profitability analysis or business performance analytics.
- →Strong Microsoft Excel capability, including advanced formulas, data manipulation and analysis.
- →Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret large and complex datasets.
- →Ability to communicate financial and analytical insights clearly to both Finance and non-Finance stakeholders.
- →Strong attention to detail and a high level of numerical accuracy.
- →Ability to work independently while effectively partnering with multiple stakeholders.
- A formal qualification, diploma or recognised learning in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence or a related field.
- Advanced practical experience with Qlik Sense, Power BI and other business intelligence/reporting tools.
- Experience working with large datasets and developing automated or self-service reporting solutions.
- Experience within financial services, banking, investments or wealth management.
- Experience with remuneration, incentive, bonus or performance-based calculations.
- Knowledge of financial modelling, profitability analysis and management information.
- Experience translating complex data into clear commercial insights and recommendations.
