SUMMARY: The Instructor/Supervisor Flight Control is responsible for training, qualifying, and evaluating Flight Operations Officers while ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and company standards. This role develops and delivers training programs, maintains qualification records, supports operational standards and safety initiatives, supervises Flight Control operations, manages operational systems, coordinates with internal and external stakeholders, and participates in safety, compliance, and audit activities.
This role combines instructional responsibilities, regulatory compliance, and operational supervision to ensure safe, efficient, and FAA-compliant airline operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• This role demands a dependable and reliable individual.
• Conduct initial, recurrent, and requalification training and competency checks for Flight Operations Officers.
• Develop and maintain training curricula, syllabi, and qualification programs.
• Deliver instruction in aircraft systems and limitations, flight planning, meteorology, navigation, Operations Specifications, and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
• Maintain training records and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop and support Flight Control standards and best practices.
• Participate in the Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) Event Review Committee (ERC).
• Support and manage Flight Control software systems, including LIDO, Ops++, AeroData, Jeppesen, Honeywell Database, and FAA systems.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and regulatory agencies to support safe, efficient, and compliant airline operations.
• Supervise Flight Control operations and provide leadership to team members.
• Conduct and participate in internal and external audits, including IOSA, DOD, FAA, or others as required.
• Perform Flight Operations Officer duties as required.
• Perform additional duties as required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervise Flight Control flight operations
• Execute supervisory functions, including hiring, firing, counseling, and employee evaluations
• Provide leadership and guidance to flight control personnel
• Ensure efficient workflow and problem resolution within the team

REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have HSD/GED
• FAA Aircraft Dispatcher’s license
• 1 year as aircraft dispatcher with FAR 121 carrier including 1 year with ABX
• 1 year’s computer-based flight planning experience
• PC proficiency
• Excellent written/oral communication skills
• Flexibility/adaptability in decision making
• Ability to lift objects weighing various amounts up to 40 lb.

PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Pilot’s license
• Experience as aircraft dispatcher lead/supervisor
• College coursework in supervisory/management field
• Supervisory experience
