Consistently meet deadlines while managing a demanding and fast-moving beat.
Use networking events, social media platforms and other community-building outlets to expand and fortify a source base and audience.
Attend newsgathering activities, interview opportunities and events in the community as needed.
Collaborate with editors, staff photographer and events team on special reports, awards programs, panel discussions and live events.
Participate in social media to extend the reach of coverage.
Work collaboratively with other newsroom staffers to maximize the impact and accessibility of stories reported.
Meet or exceed goals related to audience engagement.

Bachelor's degree in journalism, communication or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Three or more years of reporting experience, preferably in business journalism.
Proven experience and motivation for building and maintaining an active audience and a strong source base.
Solid understanding of news writing, journalistic ethics, accuracy and story structure.
Proven excellence in reporting and writing, balancing daily and long-term assignments.
Desire and ability to break news and to identify newsworthy events and sources.
Strong analytical and investigative interviewing skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Ability to relate comfortably to a wide range of people, in person, on the phone and online.
Ability to leverage relationships with sources to deliver content that differentiates the organization from competitors.
Knowledge of business principles is essential.
Denver community experience is a plus.
Comfort with on-stage or on-camera presentations is helpful.
Proficient with MS Office Products.
Proficient with Web-Based Communication Platforms (Teams, Zoom, Webex, etc.).
