Overview: The US Assurance Specialist will lead and participate in Member Reviews (MGAs, MGUs, and program administrators) in support of Accelerant’s goal of providing our Members with everything they need to fuel their success. The Reviews encompass key areas within compliance, underwriting, and financial activities.

Responsibilities

·       Perform/lead reviews to obtain reasonable assurance of the effectiveness of underwriting, documentation, compliance, reporting, and financial activities.

·       Review rates and forms compliance for a sample of policies to identify deviations from state-approved filings.

·       Perform underwriting file review to assess adherence to established underwriting guidelines/procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

·       Identify and communicate areas of risk and provide actionable recommendations to mitigate potential issues.

·       Monitor the implementation of open recommendations and follow up with responsible individuals as necessary.

·       Build positive and value-added relationships with Members and the Company’s senior management team.

·       Analyze data to identify errors and make a meaningful sample selection based on various criteria.

·       Perform a review of the monthly premium trust transactional report.

·       Keep current with any changes to laws and regulations that pertain to Insurance Underwriting & Compliance.

·       Assist in the development and maintenance of Review policies, procedures, and methodologies.

Requirements

·       A minimum of 5 years’ related audit experience in a property and casualty insurance company is required, preferably at an MGA, MGU, or program administrator. Underwriting and/or rating experience with a commercial insurance carrier is preferred.

·       Strong understanding of insurance operations, including underwriting, claims, and policy administration.

·       Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.

·       Familiarity with AI tools, including practical experience applying them to workflow automation or AI-assisted problem solving.

·       Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and communication skills (written and oral).

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

·       Some travel is required.
