Under direct supervision, the Associate Predictive Modeler will work closely with senior modelers to assist in developing and implementing predictive models to drive profitable growth, fight fraud and make sound business decisions
Collaborate with senior modelers to collect and preprocess data for modeling purposes
Assist in conducting statistical analysis to identify patterns and relationships in data
Support the development and testing of predictive models using appropriate algorithms and techniques
Document processes, methodologies, and findings related to predictive modeling projects
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in predictive modeling techniques and tools
Build knowledge and skills within assigned discipline
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry research, developments, changing trends and jurisdictional issues
Assist with planning, organizing, gathering, analyzing, and converting data from numerous sources to satisfy reporting requirements and deadlines

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or a related field
Relevant internships, coursework projects, or research experience in statistics, data analysis, or machine learning or other related fields
Experience:
Supporting analytic requests for information to determine required data
Assist with manipulating data in preparation for modeling exercise
Support utilizing, reviewing, and documenting internal automated systems, programs and processes
Performing research and using statistical analysis to complete assignments
Experience with programming languages used for data analysis and predictive modeling
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of PC software applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)
Knowledge of predictive modeling techniques and principles
Knowledge of SAS, SQL, Python, R or similar data mining application
Strong understanding of programming, database, and data mining principles
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Support modelers in making analysis rate revisions and changes on all lines of business
Present information from research and statistical analysis to enhance corporate decision-making process
Support senior modelers with projects simultaneously and work well in a team environment
Assist with research and utilize new programming and data mining techniques
Communicate effectively with others in a work environment both orally and in writing
Preferred
Education:
Master’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or a related field
Experience:
Less than one year of Insurance-related statistical/predictive modeling experience
Use basic statistical analysis techniques to conduct data mining, research, and analysis
Experience in personal lines Property and Casualty with specific focus on actuarial research
Assist with documenting processes and findings related to predictive modeling projects
This position works from a home office location. Depending on the role, some employees may be required to come into the office, at a minimum, for important departmental meetings or team building events.

Compensation
Associate Predictive Modeler will earn a competitive salary of $75,000 - $85,000 annually with annual bonus potential based on performance.
