Join our team at Acme Corporation as a Payroll Manager in our Boston, MA office. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced professional to oversee our payroll processes and ensure accurate and timely payment to our employees. As the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for managing the entire payroll function, including processing payroll, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and laws.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end payroll process, including data entry, processing, and distribution of payroll checks, direct deposits, and tax payments
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing, including reconciling payroll prior to transmission and validating confirmed reports
- Manage and maintain payroll records and employee information in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to address payroll-related inquiries and resolve any discrepancies or issues
- Prepare and analyze payroll reports, including tax filings, W-2s, and other financial reports
- Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy of payroll processes
- Provide support for payroll-related audits and assist with other financial reporting as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in payroll processing and management
- Proficient in payroll software and systems, with a strong understanding of payroll best practices
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and professionalism
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus
