Overview
The Sample Department Float is a versatile team member responsible for supporting daily operations within the Sample Department. This position works closely with department staff to ensure production goals are met, samples are manufactured accurately, inventory is maintained, and orders are packaged and prepared for shipment. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Assist with daily production activities to support department workflow and meet deadlines.
- →Operate and support manufacturing equipment, including presses and CNC cutting machines.
- →Set up, operate, and maintain Zünd CNC equipment to produce samples according to specifications.
- →Work collaboratively with team members to prioritize and complete daily production requirements.
- →Assist with inventory tracking and organization.
- →Package and prepare samples for shipment, ensuring quality standards and customer requirements are met.
- →Perform quality checks to ensure products meet company standards.
- →Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- →Assist in receiving, storing, and moving materials as needed.
- →Cross-train in multiple departmental functions to provide operational flexibility and coverage.
- →Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and manufacturing best practices.
Requirements
~1 min read- Experience operating press equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating CNC machinery, with preference given to candidates familiar with Zünd cutting systems.
- Knowledge of inventory management practices and material handling.
- Experience with packaging, shipping, and order preparation.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing or production facility.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, production schedules, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment and tools.
- Manufacturing and production facility environment.
- Exposure to machinery, moving equipment, and production materials.
- Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Flexibility to move between tasks and priorities as production needs change.
- Positive attitude and willingness to support teammates.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Dependability and strong attendance record.
This position plays a critical role in supporting the Sample Department by providing hands-on assistance wherever needed to ensure efficient daily operations and timely fulfillment of sample requests.
