The Adams State University School of Business invites applications for one full-time, nine-month, visiting faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in General Business. This position requires relocation to the Alamosa Colorado area with the successful candidate beginning in the academic year 2026-2027. The person appointed to this position will teach courses in marketing to support the business curriculum. Responsibilities include advising students, engaging in departmental and university service, and maintaining scholarly currency in the discipline. The anticipated course load is a minimum of 12 undergraduate credit hours per semester (24 credit hours per year).

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration
  • A strong focus on teaching
  • Demonstrates knowledge of, sensitivity to, and ability to work effectively with, the educational needs of individuals and groups with a diverse range of identities, cultures, backgrounds, and abilities
  • Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the racial, socioeconomic, academic, and cultural diversity of Adams State University’s student population, including students with different abilities (e.g. physical and or learning) as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded, inclusive practices within the classroom
  • Demonstrated commitment to honesty, efficacy, and collaboration.
  • Ability or experience working with historically under-served and/or underrepresented populations, and first-generation college students.
  • Ability or experience in the recruitment and/or retention of underrepresented students, including students of color.
  • Commitment to professional development, scholarship, and service to the university and community.
  • Demonstrated self-awareness of one's own cultural beliefs, perspectives, and privileges as a part of one's orientation towards teaching.
  • Demonstrated decision-making that is informed by research, data, and theory and that leverages students' unique cultures, experiences, and background as strengths.
  • Commitment to providing a quality educational experience for students while maintaining an appropriate level of rigor. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work effectively with individuals and groups with a variety of identities, cultures, backgrounds, and ideologies in a global environment.
  • Experience implementing High Impact Practice (HIPS) in academic or student-focused settings.

The pay range for this position is $72,626-$90,783 (one year visiting appointment) commensurate with experience and education.
