JOB OVERVIEW Job ID: A-MD-69976 Profession: Physician Specialty: Anesthesiology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Belfast, ME Coverage Period: ASAP – Ongoing Coverage Type: Clinical + call Shift Schedule: Mon-Fri; 7a-330p (full-time preferred) Call Schedule: Night call; Every 3rd night & 24-hr call; 1 weekend per month Reason for Coverage: Back-filling a locum who resigned PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: 3-100+ years Average Daily Volume: 14-16 cases per day (including endoscopy) Case Mix: General surgical, obstetrics, regional anesthesia, minor nerve blocks FACILITY INFORMATION Trauma Level: No trauma EMR: EPIC PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 60-90 days REQUIRED PROCEDURES General Surgical Cases ADULT Minor Nerve Blocks Plexus anesthesia Epidural Anesthesia Spinal Anesthesia Regional Anesthesia Obstetrical Cases Pain Management Procedures: Acute Insertion of Arterial line Evaluation and Management of Acute Volume / BP Issues JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC in Anesthesiology Licenses: Active ME License, IMLC or willing to review licensing candidates COVID & Flu vaccination Experienced including locum Must answer the questionnaire (to be sent by the recruiter) References (2 supervisors & 1 peer references from 12 months) Must be credentialed with the presenting agency Other Qualifications: References (2 supervisors, 1 peer within 12 months), EMR/EPIC experience Duties & Responsibilities Provide anesthesia services for general surgical, obstetrical, and regional anesthesia cases. Perform minor nerve blocks, epidural, spinal, and regional anesthesia procedures. Manage acute pain and evaluate/manage acute volume/BP issues. Work independently without CRNA supervision (physician does own cases). Participate in call schedule: weeknight every third night (7a-4pm) and weekend one per month (24-hour call).
