JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: L-MD-07558 Profession: Physician Specialty: Critical Care Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Tucson, AZ Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: ASAP – Ongoing Shift Schedule: Night shift, 5:30 PM – 5:30 AM Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 15-20 patients/day Rounding: Unassigned Patients FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic Support Staff: RNs: 2-8, PA/NPs: 1 PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: No Temporary Privileges Available: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES Required: Ventilation Management Invasive (ETT, NT, Tracheostomy) Non-invasive (BiPAP, CPAP) Chest tube insertion Bronchoscopy W/bronchial alveolar lavage (BAL) Evaluation and management of acute volume/BP issues Insertion of Central line Insertion of Arterial line Insertion of PA catheter ICP evaluation and management Dialysis catheter placement Diagnostic/therapeutic taps Lumbar puncture Paracentesis JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified Licenses: Active AZ license or IMLC (Universal License) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ABLS Duties & Responsibilities Manage ventilators and provide advanced respiratory support for critically ill patients. Perform invasive procedures including central line placement, arterial line insertion, chest tube insertion, and bronchoscopy with BAL. Evaluate and manage acute volume and blood pressure issues, including hemodynamic monitoring with PA catheter. Conduct daily rounds on unassigned patients, coordinate multidisciplinary care, and respond to rapid response calls. Provide nighttime ICU coverage, including admissions, diagnostic/therapeutic taps, and lumbar punctures.
