JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: H-MD-130333 Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Pennington Gap, Virginia Coverage Period: Aug 01, 2026 – Ongoing Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts Reason for Coverage: Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 33 patients per day FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic Support Staff Available: APPs (NP, PA) JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: ABEM, AOBEM, or ABMS board certification in FM, IM, EM Licenses: Active VA medical license and DEA with VA address and schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4,5 DEA / CDS: Active DEA with VA address and schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4,5 Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS (if not BC/EM trained), NRP for non-ABEM providers Experience: Residency trained in EM, FM, or IM; new graduates within 12 months acceptable with 3-month proctorship Other Qualifications: Case logs for past 2 years, CME/CEU including Preeclampsi, up-to-date immunizations (MMR, Varicella, TB, FLU) DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide emergency medical care for approximately 33 patients per day (annual volume 12,000). Supervise and direct mid-level providers (NP/PA) as required. Work 12-hour shifts with collaboration from 10-hour mid-level coverage. Maintain board certification and required certifications (ACLS, ATLS, PALS) and complete CME including Preeclampsi. Fullfil all credentaling, privileging, and immunizations requirements prior to start.
