JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: H-MD-131106 Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Morgan City, Louisiana Coverage Period: Jun 26, 2026 – Ongoing Shift Schedule: 24-hour shifts Hours Per Shift: 24 Reason for Coverage: Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 77 patients per day (28k annual) Case Mix: Level 3 acuity, consistent with emergency medicine FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 15 ED beds EMR System: EPIC PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES Sedation procedures (onboarding modules required) JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine (ABEM, ABIM, or ABFM) Licenses: Active unrestricted LA Medical License, DEA License with LA address, LA Controlled Substance & Supervising Physician License (PA supervision) DEA / CDS: Active DEA with LA address and LA Controlled Substance license Certifications: ACLS, PALS required; ATLS if not ABEM certified Experience: New Grad Accepted Other Qualifications: Proof of CMEs for past 2 years, case logs for past 2 years, immunizations (flu, TB, COVID), sedation modules, $100K/$300K malpractice coverage plus LPCF enrollment DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide 24-hour emergency department physician coverage Supervise and oversee NP/PA providers as required Manage acute care patients, including stabilization and treatment Perform procedures including sedation as per facility requirements Maintain compliance with credentialing, licensing, and malpractice requirements
