JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: H-MD-136625 Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Laredo, Texas Coverage Period: Oct 20, 2026 – Ongoing Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts Reason for Coverage: Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 25 patients per day Case Mix: Stroke, heart attack, abdominal/back pain, fractures, lacerations, sprains, infections, and other acute medical emergencies FACILITY INFORMATION Trauma Level: Not a designated trauma center EMR System: Cerner PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes, cross-credentialing required at Doctors Hospital of Laredo and affiliated facilities JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or Board Certified in Internal Medicine (ABIM) or Family Medicine (ABFM) with minimum 2 years EM experience Licenses: Active Texas Medical License DEA / CDS: Active DEA required Certifications: ATLS, ACLS, PALS required Experience: ABIM or ABFM candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of Emergency Medicine experience DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide 24-hour emergency medical services in a freestanding emergency department. Manage a broad range of emergent conditions including stroke, heart attack, abdominal/back pain, fractures, lacerations, sprains, and infections. Perform and interpret diagnostic tests including X-ray, CT, and Ultrasound. Work 12-hour shifts ensuring continuous coverage. Collaborate with support staff and specialists at Doctors Hospital of Laredo for cross-credentialing and patient transfers.
