JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: A-MD-72257 Profession: Physician Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Kearney, NE Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient Coverage Type: Call only Coverage Period: Dec 23, 2026 – Jan 03, 2027 Shift Schedule: 24-hour call (7a – 7a) Reason for Coverage: Lack of available orthopedic surgeons to complete call schedule PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 1-2 patients per day Admissions: None (hospitalists admit) Case Mix: Fracture care, general orthopedic care FACILITY INFORMATION Trauma Level: II EMR: Epic Support Staff: ED and OR staff PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Credentialing Timeline: 30-60 days REQUIRED PROCEDURES: General orthopedic care, fracture care JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC/BE in Orthopedic Surgery Licenses: Active NE License (preferred) or IMLC Active DEA Certifications: ATLS (highly preferred) Duties & Responsibilities Provide orthopedic Level II trauma call coverage. Perform surgical cases as needed. Provide general orthopedic care. Manage fracture care. Collaborate with ED and OR staff.
