The Production Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily production operations within the plant to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are consistently achieved. This role provides leadership to production teams while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and employee development. The Production Superintendent manages staffing, production performance, quality initiatives, and operational efficiencies, while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.


Responsibilities

  • →Serve as a liaison between management and production teams to ensure effective communication.
  • →Support objective setting and performance management processes.
  • →Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Operations Manager or Plant Manager.

  • Lead all assembly operations and coordinate activities across production departments.
  • Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining customer quality and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor staffing levels and labor utilization to support operational efficiency and productivity goals.
  • Control operational costs and contribute to overall plant profitability.
  • Ensure parts are produced on time and according to established quality standards.

  • Analyze daily production results to determine material, equipment, and staffing requirements.
  • Conduct daily production meetings and maintain close communication with cross-functional departments to identify and resolve issues.
  • Drive collaboration across Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, and Engineering teams to support plant objectives.
  • Follow up on corrective actions and ensure issues are effectively resolved.

  • Identify, implement, and validate continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, quality, and overall plant performance.
  • Promote and sustain lean manufacturing principles and best practices.

  • Maintain ownership of product quality within assigned production areas.
  • Identify quality concerns and take immediate corrective action, including stopping production when necessary.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective action implementation to prevent recurrence.
  • Participate in audits and quality improvement activities.

  • Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors, team leaders, and hourly employees.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide continuous feedback and development opportunities.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
  • Address employee concerns and resolve personnel issues in a timely and professional manner.

  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Energy (HSE&E) requirements.
  • Investigate and report workplace incidents, injuries, and safety concerns.
  • Ensure all employees follow established safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with company standards, BOS, 5S practices, and operational procedures.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a production or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using data to drive operational decisions and improvements.
  • Demonstrated workforce development and employee coaching experience.
  • Ability to work 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 2:15 PM - 10:15 PM.

Nice to Have

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience.
  • Quality management experience.
  • Just-In-Time (JIT) manufacturing experience.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing leader who can effectively balance operational performance, employee engagement, safety, quality, and continuous improvement. This individual will have a proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while driving results through strong communication, data-driven decision making, and a commitment to operational excellence.
