Principal Product Manager, Media Generation Experience
Quick Summary
how it talks to Firefly's generation services, how new models become available without client-side rework, and how the whole thing stays fast and light wherever it's embedded.
Every new model capability Firefly ships should show up everywhere a creator might want it, immediately — without each surface rebuilding the same prompt-to-output experience from scratch. That's the platform this role gets to build: a single, reusable generation experience any Firefly surface can adopt, configure, and extend as new capabilities arrive.
This is as much a craft problem as a technical one. The experience has to feel simple and obvious, with real depth underneath for the surfaces that need it. We're looking for one of the strongest partners the design org has! This only works as a genuinely well-crafted shared experience teams want to adopt, not a spec handed down from engineering.
Responsibilities
~2 min readBuild the generation experience as a platform
- →Own the requirements, architecture-level tradeoffs, and rollout plan for a shared prompting and generation experience that works across every Firefly surface.
- →Balance what's core and universal versus what's configurable per surface.
- →Partner deeply with engineering on the technical contract underneath: how it talks to Firefly's generation services, how new models become available without client-side rework, and how the whole thing stays fast and light wherever it's embedded.
Be an exceptional partner to design
- →Work hand-in-hand with the design team to shape what this experience actually looks and feels like, balancing a small, obvious set of controls for most people with real capability underneath for those who need more.
- →Own how it scales across a wide range of surfaces, model types, and workflows, and navigate what that means as the product becomes more agentic and editing and generation converge — without every variation feeling like its own product. How would you draw that line?
Own Activation: turning new capability into a shipped experience on day one
- →Watch new capabilities as they emerge, from research, competitors, and the model landscape broadly. Decide the right use case, surface, and experience before anyone starts building.
- →Shape and deliver the launch experience that puts new capability in front of creators immediately!
- →Take direct ownership of the new experiences that don't fit the existing pattern yet. This role defines the next interaction pattern, not just maintains the current one.
- Strong product management experience with a track record of shipping platform-level or shared-component experiences that multiple teams adopt.
- Excellent design instincts and genuine fluency partnering with designers. This role co-leads experience decisions, not just gathers requirements.
- Technical depth sufficient to engage credibly on architecture tradeoffs.
- A strong point of view on a unified direction, and the patience to build real support across teams with their own preferences.
- An eye for genuinely new interaction patterns as capabilities emerge, not just maintenance of what already exists.
