Responsibilities

· Lead, coach, mentor, and develop nursing staff.

· Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance management, and staff development.

· Establish a culture of accountability, teamwork, professional growth, and clinical excellence.

· Support staff engagement, retention, and professional development.

· Provide leadership to multidisciplinary teams within the L&D environment

· Oversee 24/7 Labor & Delivery unit operations.

· Ensure appropriate staffing levels, scheduling, and resource allocation.

· Monitor equipment, supplies, and operational needs.

· Ensure efficient patient flow and continuity of care.

· Identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions

· Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, policies, and professional nursing standards.

· Support compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) requirements and the California Nursing Practice Act.

· Lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

· Monitor clinical outcomes and develop action plans when improvement opportunities are identified.

· Promote evidence-based nursing practices and a culture of patient safety

· Assist with development and management of the unit budget.

· Monitor financial performance, staffing costs, and resource utilization.

· Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.

· Implement departmental policies, procedures, and best practices.

· Support organizational strategic initiatives and clinical goals

· Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

· Promote effective communication and coordination of patient care.

· Address patient and family concerns professionally and efficiently.

· Support continuity of care throughout the patient experience.

· Promote a patient-centered approach to Labor & Delivery services.

Requirements

· Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

· Minimum 5 years of patient care delivery experience.

· Minimum 5 years of experience in business operations, clinical healthcare, or a related field.

· Minimum 4 years of leadership/management experience.

· Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license.

· Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

· Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
