What We Offer
~1 min readRegisters blood donors, explains the screening process, and provides relevant information about health tests, eligibility, and nutrition. Accurately identifies donors throughout the donation process and performs phlebotomy to collect blood products. Provides post-donation care, monitors donors for reactions, and assists or notifies staff as needed. Assists in donor recruitment, encourages donations and rescheduling, and converts donors to apheresis when appropriate. Constructs and deconstructs mobile collection equipment and supports the safe operation of the bloodmobile. Receives, processes, stores, and distributes blood products and samples, ensuring proper labeling and investigating specimen or paperwork issues. Prepares or modifies blood products according to protocol, organizes and ships samples to testing labs, and labels and validates products post-testing. Loads automated analyzers, performs waived testing after training, and operates, maintains, and performs quality control on equipment. Meets production and distribution goals, prioritizes workload to meet requirements, and practices good inventory management throughout the donation process. Operates computer programs for registration, collection, production, labeling, storage, and shipping. Other duties as assigned.
