What We Offer
~1 min read- Performs comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate health status and identify care needs.
- Develops and implements individualized patient care plans based on clinical assessments and diagnoses.
- Administers medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders and established protocols.
- Monitors patient progress and modifies care plans as appropriate to optimize outcomes.
- Educates patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care practices.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate and deliver quality patient care.
- Documents assessments, interventions, care plans, and patient outcomes accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Maintains compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and clinical outcomes.
- Provides oversight, guidance, and mentorship to nursing staff to support high-quality care delivery.
- Promotes a safe patient care environment by following infection prevention and safety protocols.
- Responds effectively to emergency and critical situations using established procedures and clinical judgment.

- Skills required to work in critical care area as defined by unit
- Excellent organization and interpersonal communication skills
- Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Organizational skills, ability to prioritize
- Mental and emotional stability, demonstrating a courteous and calm approach to all contacts with patients, visitors, and health care team members
- Mature judgment and ability to handle confidential information
- Personal qualities such as kindness, compassion, understanding, integrity, respect, sense of humor, discretion, and confidentiality
- Ability to work as a team player within a unit
- Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes
- Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
- Ability to provide leadership, direction, and solve complex problems
- Performs accurate documentation within the electronic medical record
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in clinical skills, multi-tasking, and a professional bedside manner
- Knowledgeable in assigned areas of patient care including health promotion and maintenance
- EKG knowledge (based on patient population; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements)
- Previous experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Record [Preferred]
- Previous EKG Interpretation Class [Preferred]
- EPIC [Preferred]
- Associate's of Nursing [Required]
- Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

- Acute/Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CCNS) [Preferred]
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) [Preferred]
- NonViolent Crisis Intervention Program [Preferred]
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program - Advanced (NRP-A) [Preferred]
- Instructor PALS (PALS-INSTR) [Preferred]
- S.T.A.B.L.E. certification [Preferred]
- Trauma Nurse course Certification (TNCC) [Preferred]
