What We Offer
~1 min readProvide field-based training, coaching, and competency validation for Donation Operations staff to support consistent, high-quality donation practices.
Coach staff in conducting relationship-based donation discussions that present organ and tissue donation as a compassionate and meaningful option at end of life.
Reinforce performance excellence in readiness assessment, timing, word choice, emotional attunement, and professional presence during donation conversations.
Develop and deliver training programs aligned with CMS Conditions for Coverage, OPTN policies, OPO requirements, internal standards, and evidence-based practices.
Observe field performance and provide real-time coaching and feedback to improve ethical authorization practices and organizational performance outcomes.
Validate staff competencies and support ongoing development to ensure reliable, compassionate, and effective donation discussions across the service area.
Partner with Donation Operations and OurLegacy leadership, Quality, Clinical Operations, and Regulatory Compliance to identify training needs, performance trends, and improvement opportunities.
Translate organizational standards, regulatory expectations, and quality requirements into practical field behaviors and consistent operational performance.
Support continuous improvement efforts by using performance observations, coaching outcomes, and competency findings to strengthen donation service practices.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Advanced communication, presentation, and coalition-building skills [Required]
High emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and the ability to perform effectively in emotionally charged situations [Required]
Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, influence and coach adults using a variety of instructional methods [Required]
Strong understanding of family-centered care, grief and bereavement principles, and crisis communication. [Required]
Working knowledge of organ and tissue donation authorization processes and applicable regulations/standards (e.g., CMS Conditions for Coverage, OPTN policies, and accrediting body expectations as applicable to tissue donation). [Required]
Ability to objectively assess performance, analyze qualitative and quantitative data, and translate findings into targeted training and performance improvement actions. [Required]
Public speaking experience [Required]
Teaching / Precepting experience [Required]
Decision making aptitude and problem-solving skills [Required]
Ability to travel within a 10-county service area [Required]
Must have dependable transportation [Required]
Educataion:
Bachelor’s degree [Required]
Master’s degree [Preferred]
Field of Study:
in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Health Education, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a closely related healthcare or human services field.

Work Experience:
5+ years of experience in organ donation operations, hospital development, or partnership management [Required]
5+ years of experience obtaining donor authorization for an Organ Procurement Organization. [Preferred]

Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) OR Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) [Preferred]
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) [Preferred]
Six Sigma Black Belt Certification (CSSBB) [Preferred] OR Six Sigma Green Belt Certification (CSSGB) [Preferred]
Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) [Preferred]
