Staff Engineer - Banking Products

As a Staff Engineer in Banking, you’ll contribute in a game-changing way to build, release, grow and scale Adyen’s banking products, such as Bank Accounts, Payouts, and Liquidity management, defining how our customers hold and manage their finances. These products are strategic and heavily influential to the future success of Adyen. We’re in a pivotal moment to shape the technical foundation, execution strategy, and product capabilities and innovation in a truly global fashion.

You’ll partner closely with product, commercial leadership, as well as eng leadership both in Banking/Financial Products as well as across Adyen Solutions to grow these products into global solutions—leveraging your engineering expertise, design instincts, and ability to drive resolutions to lead through technical complexity and scale. You will be working across time zones, while playing a technical leadership role with high visibility, global scope, and direct impact on the future of Adyen.

• →Set a new standard on quality, reliability and robustness by driving systematic as well as tactical changes in our engineering systems, attention to design details, and engineering practices.
• →Help the engineering team make long-term optimal technical decisions that lead to scalable and maintainable systems, by doing this yourself as well as coaching others.

• →Be a close partner with our product team to design, define, and shape new product offerings.
• →Be the forefront problem solver to customer problems and needs.

• You have a proven track record of designing, building, scaling, running large and complex engineering systems. You have a diverse set of learning from past decisions you made, good and bad.
• You make a team deliver faster and better.
• You deeply care about customer needs and experience. 
• You take pride in your work not because of the actions you took, but rather the customers’ feedback.
• You have rich experience and are constantly optimizing for solving the problems with great (cost) efficiency, while balancing sustainability over the long term. 
• You have prior experience with financial infrastructure, ideally in issuing, banking, treasury, and/or embedded finance.
• You are experienced in coaching and mentoring other engineers, as well as in driving technical discussion to sound conclusion/decision especially when different opinions present.
• Experience in working cross-functionally, especially across product, engineering, and commercial, is a strong plus.
  
  

• 10+ years of engineering experience in designing and building software.
• Prior experience in functioning as a (senior) Staff Engineer / Tech Lead in comparable tech companies, serving organizations of around 30 engineers.
