Job Summary To identify & eliminate corrosion & degradation threats to the integrity of buried/underground and submerged assets along the Gas Transmission System (GTS). Duties & Responsibilities 1. MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES Develop guidelines/procedures and templates to measure and assure the cathodic protection (CP) of buried/underground and submerged facilities. Develop and define the scope of work for cathodic protection systems for new onshore, offshore, and subsea buried/underground/submerged assets in conjunction with Contractors and Project Teams, to ensure they are adequately protected against external corrosion. Plan and coordinate all types of cathodic protection (CP) field surveys, interference testing and monitoring using the most appropriate technology to ensure continual integrity of the buried/underground/submerged assets. Coordinate the receipt and interpretation of all CP reports, develop & track remedial actions to maintain an up-to-date CP database for trending and integrity status check of buried/underground/submerged assets. Carry out diagnosis of CP system malfunctions, develop and execute effective remedial action and close out report to ensure continuous protection of the buried/underground/submerged assets. Ensure compliance to applicable Codes/Standards and statutory requirements for cathodic protection systems in the oil & gas industry. Key Performance Indicators 100% compliance to Project CP survey plans. 100% data update completeness and tracking. 100% CP failure investigations and resolution. 100% compliance with Project technical specification and Code requirements. 100% compliance with statutory requirements. Requirements Education B.Sc. Metallurgical & Materials Engineering or Mechanical/Chemical/Electrical Engineering. Possess The Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) Cathodic Protection Level 2 (CP 2) Certification. Experience 5 years postgraduate experience, out of which at least 3 years should have been spent as a Cathodic Protection Inspector/Engineer or equivalent position in a reputable organization, preferably an Oil & Gas company.
