AGAT Laboratories is currently seeking a Fire Assay Technician to join our Thunder Bay team. The successful candidate will support laboratory operations by preparing and analyzing samples while ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality results.

Responsibilities

    Receive work orders and perform sample preparation.

  • →

    Prepare samples, reagents, and calibration standards for analysis.

  • →

    Perform sample analysis according to established procedures.

  • →

    Maintain laboratory instrumentation in an optimized and calibrated condition.

  • →

    Troubleshoot basic instrumental issues and perform routine maintenance.

  • →

    Verify and validate analytical data.

  • →

    Maintain accurate and up-to-date laboratory records.

  • →

    Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control (QC) requirements.

  • →

    Meet established quality assurance and turnaround time specifications.

  • →

    Assist with training junior analysts as required.

  • →

    Perform other laboratory and administrative duties as assigned.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

  • Good problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Basic computer proficiency.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 kg.

  • Must be able to properly wear a respirator and work in hot conditions.

  • Willingness to work overtime during peak periods as required.

  • Previous laboratory experience is an asset; training will be provided for the right candidate.
